Benefits of Biking
08 July 2008
Motorcycles and scooters are a great way to avoid traffic, saving time, money and unnecessary stress. And they generally produce far lower greenhouse gases than other motorised vehicles. Commuter motorcycling accounts for two-thirds of powered two wheeler trips and represents one of the cleanest forms of motorised transport for trips where walking, cycling and public transport are not viable. Motorcycles spend less time in traffic jams, whereas cars spend time with engines idling and air-conditioning running.

Alstares's Biofuel Bike Debuts at Monza
09 May 2008
Alstare is sensitive to the environmental problems caused by the continuing consumption of fossil fuels affecting the earth’s climate control. We are aware that it is inevitable and urgent now for the world to reduce CO2 carbon emissions in the atmosphere and to replace the consumption of polluting energies with clean and renewable sources. Therefore, since last year, Alstare began working on the development of small sized engines - such as in motorcycles and ATVs - using biofuel. Such a project is the result of a synergy between Alstare’s technical and intellectual resources and the experience and the support of Japanese manufacturer Suzuki and Magneti Marelli, Alstare’s race team partners for several years.

Fueling the Future – Students Run Triumph's on Apples
27 April 2008
A Triumph Daytona 675 powered by bioethanol fuel on Friday reached an astonishing track speed of 158.7 mph at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground! The biofuel used for this groundbreaking initiative was produced from windfall apples by A-level students from a local school. Devised by Rupert Paul, contributing editor of Bike magazine, “Project Fast Fruit” aimed to convert and run a high performance vehicle on biofuel using only basic equipment. As such, the fuel was produced in a Chemistry Lab as part of an A-level project by students from the Prince William School in Oundle, Northamptonshire.
