	South London Schemes To Share New £4m Road Safety Grant 10 May 2007 Lewisham and Merton local highway authorities and their partners will share the first award of a new £4 million road safety grant, Dr Stephen Ladyman, Road Safety Minister, announced today. Lewisham will receive £179,000 for young drivers volunteer training and Merton receives £70,500 for child pedestrian training including community projects on safer mobility. The Road Safety Partnership Grant Scheme will provide funding to local highway authorities that are taking an innovative and collaborative approach to improving road safety.
