30 April 2009
The future World Champions begin their battle for the 2009 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup this coming weekend as part of the Spanish Grand Prix at Jerez. The 3rd Rookies season starts with two races, one on Saturday May 2nd and one on Sunday May 3rd, the beginning of an 8 race Cup.

Deane Brown Recaptures form for Team Appleyard/Macadam
26 August 2008
Team Appleyard/Macadam’s fifteen year old rider Deane Brown put in an excellent performance this weekend to finish seventh at the Cadwell Park round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship. Still building his confidence and speed following his bad leg injury earlier in the season, Deane arrived at Cadwell Park following a morale boosting 4th place in one of the two Red Bull Moto GP Rookies Cup races a week earlier at the Brno circuit in Czechoslovakia. After a steady start in practice, Deane posted second quickest time in wet qualifying and eventually started the Relentless British 125GP Championship race from 10th place on the grid.

Thompson Flys Flag for Team Appleyard/Macadam
15 August 2008
Seventeen year old Jordan Thompson maintained the honour of Team Appleyard/Macadam this weekend at the eighth round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Knockhill in Scotland as he scored yet more points in his Championship campaign. In an otherwise challenging weekend for the team, Jordan performed strongly throughout the weather-affected practice and qualifying sessions for the Relentless British 125GP Championship race, eventually posting the 10th quickest time. With the race held during one of the rare dry spells, the Cheshire rider started well and enjoyed a good race dicing with two other riders for top ten positions and brought his bike home in eleventh place earning five valuable Championship points.

Last Double Chance for Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup
12 August 2008
It all comes down to two races at Brno this coming weekend to decide the 2008 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup. There are still 50 points at stake for a double victory so while the favourites are 16 year old American JD Beach and Spaniard Luis Salom who turned 17 on August 7th it is not just a two rider contest. Norwegian 16 year old Sturla Fagerhaug and 14 year old Japanese Daijiro Hiura both have mathematical chances of wining the Cup and will certainly play an important part in the outcome of the two races, one on Saturday and the other on Sunday August 17th.

Thompson’s Twin Performances Lift Team Appleyard/Macadam
03 July 2008
Seventeen year old Jordan Thompson flew the flag admirably for Team Appleyard/Macadam at the sixth round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship this weekend at Mallory Park with two excellent top ten rides. With team-mates Deane Brown still recovering from his leg operation and Ashley Beech forced to miss his race after destroying his bike in qualifying, Jordan rode to a season’s best 7th and 8th places to give the team a much needed lift.

Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup - Donington & Assen Preview
16 June 2008
Two great venues, Donington and Assen open the second half of the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup season. With five races remaining there is nothing comfortable about the 13 point lead that Spaniard Luis Salom has over American JD Beach. The two 16 year olds will not just be fighting each other anyway as Sturla Fagerhaug, Daijiro Hiura, Mathew Scholtz, Nelson Major and others all have ideas about winning and putting themselves into the chase for the Cup. 16 year old Norwegian Fagerhaug stands out as the man who has so far failed to score the result that his clear ability and pre season testing times show he is capable of. Often it has been his bad start or slow opening laps that have proved a handicap and he knows very well that he must get over that.

Beech Boost for Team Appleyard/Macadam at Snetterton
16 June 2008
At the fifth round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship this weekend, Team Appleyard/Macadam rider Ashley Beech put in his best performance of the season by finishing 7th in the Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport Championship race. Teammate Jordan Thompson also performed well, finishing 13th in the Relentless British 125GP class to equal his best result of the season. In earlier qualifying, the team had made key changes to the geometry of Ashley’s Yamaha R6 which vastly improved the ‘feel’ of the bike and gave him more grip. This translated into better mid corner and exit speed - vital through the ultra fast corners of the Snetterton circuit. Ashley eventually qualified in 8th place, just 0.6 seconds off the pole time, earning him a second row grid position.

Almost Half Way for Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup
28 May 2008
Half distance approaches in the 2008 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup with the 5th of 10 races held this weekend in Mugello. Just 8 points separate leader Luis Salom from JD Beach and they will be pressed hard by Daijiro Hiura, who beat them both in Portugal. Being only 13, Japanese ace Hiura had to miss the last round in France but is in action again at the Italian round with a good chance of putting his title attack back on track thanks to the rule that all riders must drop one result from their Cup points total at the end of the season. While he hopes for his second victory 16 year old American Beach is still looking for his first win after taking second in all 4 rounds so far.

Beach Out for First Win at Le Mans
14 May 2008
The fourth race in the 2008 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup will be contested at the Le Mans Bugatti circuit on Saturday May 17th with double Jerez winner Luis Salom defending a 3 point championship lead over American JD Beach. When 16 year old Salom won at his home Grand Prix in Spain he completely dominated the two race weekend but with only a fourth place at the Portuguese round a month ago he allowed 16 year old Beach to close the gap with a string of three second places.

Cruel Injury Blow for Brown & Team Appleyard/Macadam
13 May 2008
Deane Brown, one of Britain’s brightest racing talents, left the Brands Hatch round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship in an ambulance yesterday as a badly broken right leg effectively ended his season. He will undergo an operation today to remove an existing plate and have a rod inserted which will mean he will be out of action for at least two or three months. The 15 year old has been in scintillating form this year on his Team Appleyard/Macadam 125 KR Seel machine in the Relentless 125GP British Championship taking pole at the last round at Oulton Park and also in the Red Bull Moto GP Rookies Cup where he currently lies in 4th position in the standings.

No Luck for Team Appleyard/Macadam at Oulton Park
07 May 2008
Luck was in very short supply for Team Appleyard/Macadam who had a weekend to forget at the Oulton Park round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship. The only highlights in an otherwise totally frustrating weekend were Deane Brown claiming pole position and Jordan Thompson comprehensively topping the timesheets in the wet qualifying session on Sunday for the Relentless 125GP Championship race. After his strong performance at Thruxton, 15 year old Deane Brown was hungry for a podium at Oulton Park and gave himself the best chance of this by qualifying in pole position, clinching the top slot with two ultra fast laps right at the end of the session.

Team Appleyard/Macadam Primed for Oulton Action
30 April 2008
With the second round of the British Superbike Championship at Oulton Park just a few days away, Team Appleyard/Macadam is primed and ready for action. At the last round at Thruxton, Deane Brown led the GP125 race and was in contention for top honours but failed to finish so he is eager to make amends at the Cheshire circuit. With his season in BSB GP125 being mixed with a regular ride in the Red Bull Moto GP Rookies Cup, Deane is already having a busy season but is riding extremely well, especially considering that he has only just celebrated his 15th birthday.

Team Appleyard/Macadam Shows Strong Potential at Thruxton
21 April 2008
With the British Superbike Championship finally kicking off at Thruxton this weekend, Team Appleyard/Macadam showed strong potential in what proved to be a tricky start to the season. Having swapped his 125 for a Supersport 600 machine, Ashley Beech demonstrated his undoubted talent by qualifying in 6th place in the first wet session on Saturday and new team member Deane Brown put his machine towards the front of the 125 grid by qualifying in 5th place overall.

All Systems Go For Team Appleyard/Macadam
02 April 2008
The Brands Hatch 2008 season opener on 6 April can’t come soon enough for Team Appleyard/Macadam as they take to the track with a new and expanded team line-up in both the GP125 class where they have had huge success and also in Supersport 600. The move to compete in the 600 class demonstrates the team’s philosophy of developing talented young riders and helping them progress in their racing careers.
