In front of over 1,000 dealer delegates from around the world, Triumph revealed a number of striking updates to existing best-selling bikes, plus previewed an exciting new model.

Embassy Racing Moto Announce Plans for 2009

For 2009 Embassy will once again be entering two riders in the British Supersport Championship and will be hoping to build on their amazing success this year with wildcard entries in several World Supersport rounds. The team has announced that recent meetings with Triumph have confirmed that the British factory will be represented in the BSB paddock for a further year by Embassy Racing. The team will be holding tests over the winter to determine who will partner the already confirmed Glen Richards as the second rider on the all-new Triumph Daytona 675’s. However, the teams junior superstock rider AJ Venter will be given an opportunity to prove himself on a supersport machine before the end of the season in the hope of snatching the coveted second Embassy supersport ride.

Ty Howard - Aprilia's Fastest in Practice at Heartland Park Topeka

Ty Howard of Weatherford, Texas. set the fastest time in practice for the fifth round of the SunTrust MOTO-ST Series, the Level 5 Heartland 500 presented by Hooters at Heartland Park on Saturday. Riding the No. 1 Aprilia USA/Lloyd Brothers Motorsports Aprilia Tuono 1000R, Howard turned a time of one minute, 41.530 seconds around the 2.5-mile circuit for an average speed of 88.644 miles per hour.

Wildcard Wade Gets a Respectable 28th in BSS

27 year old Marcus Wade is in his second full season on a Triumph Daytona 675. In 2008 he is challenging not just for the New Era F600 and Sound of Thunder Championships, but also as four wildcard entries at British Supersport. Here is his race report from Oulton Park at the weekend. The first practice session was wet and Wade set to the track looking forward to riding in these conditions. For the first 10 mins of the session Wade topped the time sheets, becoming consistently quicker. Half way though the session he pitted to fit a intermediate front and dry rear as the track had dried too much. Again, he kept in the top 20 with the drying conditions, then pitting for fuel with eight mins to go only to find a technical issue that needed to be resolved. As the track was drying he dropped down in the final mins the order ending 32nd. The next session presented difficult conditions due to the mix of dry and damp sections of track.

MX Sports Named as Promoter of AMA MX Championship

The Daytona Motorsports Group (DMG) announced today that MX Sports, Inc. has been chosen as the promotional partner for the AMA Pro Racing Motocross Championship. Under the terms of the agreement, DMG, now doing business as AMA Pro Racing, has assigned the commercial and promotional rights to the motocross series to MX Sports based in Morgantown, West Virginia.

Team Triumph-SC Gives Up To Nürburgring Round

Team Triumph-SC will gives up to the German round of World Supersport for reason of the missed supplying by a technical supplier of some main components. The team will be back racing for Misano’s round next June 26. “In the past days we made several important test session which showed a very consistent increasing in our 675 Daytona performance and reliability. The unattended delay in the supplying of important parts by one of our technical supplier force our team to return racing for Misano race. We are very disappointed to break the appointment with Triumph’s German fans, but it’s a great solace for us to know that in Misano we’ll be present with a very competitive machine.”

Rob Barber‚s Happy with First Couple of Sessions of TT 08

Rob wasn’t too happy during the first untimed session on Saturday as the bikes suspension where to hard. After a conversation with Andy White of KAIS performance about what to do with the suspension, Rob made some major change to both bike on Andy’s advice for Monday nights first qualifying. Rob first went out on the Dave Cottrell Suzuki GSXR 1000 as he was keen to get as many laps as possible on this bike as he has no experience on a 1000 at the TT. Rob was really pleased with the changed made and did 113mph lap from a standing start and bedding new brake pads in. On his second lap he did 115.5mph lap his quickest ever lap of the TT.

Aprilia USA Fastest in First Ever SunTrust MOTO-ST Series Qualifying

The defending SunTrust MOTO-ST Series champions Aprilia USA/Lloyd Brothers Motorsports will start on pole position for Sunday’s VIR SunTrust MOTO-ST 500k at Virginia International Raceway in Danville, Va. In the first qualifying session in the series two-year history Ty Howard of Weatherford, Tex. took the No. 1 Aprilia Tuono 1000R around the 3.27-mile VIR track in one minute, 59.443 seconds for an average speed of 98.557 miles per hour. Howard and teammate Mike Himmelsbach of Quakertown, Penn. won the season opening event at Daytona International Speedway and the No. 1 Aprilia leads the standings in the Buell Motorcycle Company SuperSport Twins (SST) class heading into this weekend’s second round of the series.

Fueling the Future – Students Run Triumph's on Apples

A Triumph Daytona 675 powered by bioethanol fuel on Friday reached an astonishing track speed of 158.7 mph at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground! The biofuel used for this groundbreaking initiative was produced from windfall apples by A-level students from a local school. Devised by Rupert Paul, contributing editor of Bike magazine, “Project Fast Fruit” aimed to convert and run a high performance vehicle on biofuel using only basic equipment. As such, the fuel was produced in a Chemistry Lab as part of an A-level project by students from the Prince William School in Oundle, Northamptonshire.

Yates Leads Suzuki Top-Twelve Sweep at Daytona Superstock

Michael Jordan Motorsports Suzuki's Aaron Yates secured a sound victory in the season-opening round of AMA Superstock at Daytona International Raceway in Daytona Beach, Florida, on Thursday afternoon. M4 EMGO Suzuki's Blake Young picked up his first-ever AMA podium by following Yates home in second place, while Yates' Jordan Suzuki teammate Geoff May completed the podium with a third-place finish.

Rob Barber Triumph's In Junior And Senior TT

Rob had an incredible ride in both the junior and the senior although the bad communication of the officials robbed him of a bronze replica. The Triumph never missed a beat and was outstanding though out the NW200 and the TT. He wouldn’t hesitate on riding one again and would prefer it over the jap bikes.
