Plater Takes Win for AIM Yamaha at Cadwell
28 August 2008
Steve Plater rode to a calculated win for AIM Yamaha in round nine of the Fuchs/Silkolene British Supersport championship at Cadwell Park on Bank Holiday Monday. But there was no luck for David Paton who was involved in a second corner crash on the first lap. The Woodhall Spa ace had plenty to smile as he celebrated his birthday with a race win and was presented with a bottle of champagne after being pronounced rider of the day by the Eurosport presenters. Plater had been on form throughout the weekend and held pole in final qualifying until the session was stopped because of a fire in the campsite which saw smoke billowing across the track along Park Straight. As the session continued Plater was caught out by a cold tyre and slid off at Barn Corner. Unable to improve his lap times he was relegated to third place for a front row start to Monday’s planned 16-lap race.

Virgin Media Update - Oulton Park
15 July 2007
Virgin Media Optoma Loans Yamaha rider Tommy Hill stole through to qualify in the top ten ahead of round 8 of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Oulton Park in Cheshire yesterday, 14 July. Friday's Free Practice had been blighted by persistent rain, with conditions worsening throughout the afternoon. Saturday morning saw a change of fortune in the weather, as the riders took to the 2.69-mile circuit in brilliant sunshine. But despite the favourable change in track conditions, a lost day of dry track time hindered the team's progress a little. The main focus of the weekend had been finding the optimum set-up with the brand new chassis.

Toal Takes Advantage Of Webb’s Mistake
08 May 2007
The Virgin Media Cup race would prove once again to be one of the most exciting on the Bank Holiday schedule at Oulton Park, today, 7 May. James Webb took his second pole position in a row, but it was Leon Morris who snatched the holeshot from the outside of the front row. Midge Smart tucked into second, taking the lead with a slick move into Lodge at the end of the first lap. The following lap, James Webb made his move through the pack to move into the lead at Old Hall Bend. The front five runners made a quick break from Hellyer and Hipwell, before a Danny Brill crash at Hislop's chicane left debris across the track and the race was red flagged.
