Corser & Haga Take Winning Form to San Marino
26 June 2008
After incredible rides at the Nürburgring in Germany both Noriyuki Haga and Troy Corser (Yamaha Motor Italia WSB Team) will be relishing another chance to compete for top honours at Round 8 of the World Superbike Championship at the Misano circuit on the Adriatic coast of Italy this weekend. Despite suffering from a broken right collarbone, plated and pinned before the Nürburgring race, Haga won both races in the German round, only just beating his team-mate Corser in race two. Arguably Corser looked favourite for the win until the track surface started to become wet, but it was still a miracle for Haga to be anywhere near a double win so soon after his big crash in America.

The Comunitat Valenciana Grand Prix will crown tomorrow the MotoGP World Champion in a race with no possible forecasts and a considerable evenness among all favourites. The qualifying practices staged today at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit have shown that the power is very even, considering that the top six riders are only within three tenths of a second. Nicky Hayden finished fifth and will start tomorrow from the second row of the grid, joined by Dani Pedrosa sixth, but facing the race with highest hopes after a consistent practice session.

31 October 2006
The first practise day at the Valencia circuit finishes with Hayden fourth and Pedrosa sixth in MotoGP, and Aoyama sixth and De Gea seventh in the 250cc. The good weather and temperatures which have been higher than expected played an exceptional leading role on the first practice day of the Comunitat Valenciana Grand Prix. It's been a good day for the Repsol riders, who have been able to finish in top positions both in the 250cc and the MotoGP class. The only exception was Bradley Smith; the young British rider crashed during the 125cc practices, fortunately without any physical consequences.

Valencia will set this weekend the full stop to a season that will probably be remembered for a long time given the levelness until the last round. With the 250cc and MotoGP titles yet to be decided, the Ricardo Tormo circuit announced already weeks ago that it was sold out and that there were no more tickets left. It was many years since the title had not been decided already before the last race in the MotoGP class and that has obviously attracted the interest of all fans.
