Two More Wins And New Lap Record For Yokohama At The TT
14 June 2007
There was much to celebrate on the Isle of Man last week, as Yokohama tyres helped Dave Molyneux to clinch another pair of wins in the sidecar class of the week-long races and become the most successful sidecar rider in the event’s history. And the icing on the cake for the Japanese tyre manufacturer was when Nick Crowe broke the sidecar lap record, previously held by Molyneux, recording an average speed of more than 116mph. Once again, Yokohama tyres were chosen by the frontrunners in the sidecar class for the centenary running of the world’s most famous motorbike races.

Honda Ready For TT Celebrations
25 May 2007
Honda is looking forward to this year’s 100th Anniversary TT races with one of the strongest line-ups ever in both solo and sidecar classes. In 1954, the company’s founder Soichiro Honda vowed to take part in the Isle of Man TT races and five years later on May 5th 1959 a party of four riders and five engineers set foot on Manx soil to begin Honda’s love-affair with the Tourist Trophy races. The first year saw a sixth, seventh, eighth and tenth place claiming the Manufacturers’ title, but just two years later Honda won its first race in the hands of legendary rider Mike Hailwood. Its riders had dominated practice for the 1961 Ultra Lightweight TT and Hailwood led a sweep of five Hondas in the top six placings, which he followed-up with a win in the Lightweight TT later the same day.

The greatest sidecar driver ever to have graced the Mountain Course is back for more in 2006 with the news that Dave Molyneux has officially entered this year's Isle of Man TT Races. The Manxman, who already has a record 11 victories beside his name, lines up for the first time in the official HM Plant Honda colours and it would take a brave man to bet against him adding another brace to his collection this time around.
