Successful Dirt Bike Show 2008

The 2008 Annual Dirt Bike Show has been deemed a huge success by the manufacturers, retailers and the paying public. In the middle of the credit crunch it was unknown how this year's show would fair up and despite the economic crisis the Dirt Bike Show pulled in around 18,000 people over the four day period.

Club Infinity - A Rewarding Experience

Infinity Motorcycles, the well-known clothing and accessories supplier and one of the UK’s biggest mail order specialists, has launched Club Infinity – a free, points reward scheme for their customers.
Figures from a recent survey show that Infinity already have an excellent customer satisfaction rating (of 81%) and they now want to build on that by offering customers that little bit extra with a new, easy to use rewards scheme.

Eurosport Extends British Superbike Championship Deal

Eurosport will broadcast the British Superbike Championship (BSB) for a further two seasons after renewing its exclusive live rights deal with MotorSport Vision this week. The digital sports channel had the exclusive live rights to the 12-round BSB championship in 2008 and used the series to develop British Eurosport 2 in the UK market. The new two-year deal will continue to give the exciting BSB series extensive TV airtime, with a 4-hour live show produced at each of the 12 rounds, featuring both BSB races, the British Supersport Championship and additional support races. Raceday highlights will also be shown in primetime and repeated throughout the week. On Thursday nights “British Superbikes Extra” features the British 125 GP, National Superstock and KTM RC8 Championships.

Peterborough Kawasaki 30 year celebration

Peterborough Kawasaki is celebrating three decades of being a Kawasaki franchised dealer this year. 2008 marks the 30th birthday of the successful Lincoln Road solus dealership. Peterborough Kawasaki opened in May 1978 and as the only Kawasaki motorcycle dealer in town they soon began to expand. 1989 saw their first move to new premises, just two doors down the street. However, these premises were soon outgrown and in 1991 they moved to 740 Lincoln Road – where customers can find them today.

World Champions to Race at Croft

The North East Motorcycle Racing Club makes its second visit of the year to Croft Circuit next weekend (August 2/3) with no less than three prestigious trophies up for grabs. As well as a host of club championship races for both two wheels and three, the feature race for the solos is the Laird of Croft and Ken Redfern Trophy whereas all eyes will be on the famous Mac Hobson Sidecar Trophy race to see who can add their names to the list of famous winners.

Three Days - Three Rides - One Reunion!

Ace Cafe London's 70th anniversary and 15th annual Ace Cafe Reunion, a special party weekend that is being filmed for USA TVs Speed Channel, starts on Friday 12th September with the arrival from 6pm of The Continental Run for the cafe's Bike Night, with Dyno Shoot-Out and rockin' sounds from The Unknowns and DJ Jimmy Guntrip. Saturday 13th September, join us for breakfast at the Ace from 7am. A Cafe Racer & Rockers Ride-Out will depart at Noon to the London Motorcycle Museum in Greenford, which is being filmed for a USA TV documentary 'Cafe Society', returning to the cafe for a Cafe Racer Review at 2.30pm with awards for the 'Best Ridden Cafe Racer' and two runners-up, being presented by special guests Colin Campbell (Actor in the film 'The Leather Boys'), David Hailwood, Dave Degens and actor Oliver Tobias (featured in the book 'Rockers! by Johnny Stuart)

Airwaves Unveil New Look ‘Airwaves Pro’ Line Up

Bikers at IAM Conference Call for More Bus Lane Access

Motorcyclists at the IAM (Institute of Advanced Motorists) bike conference this week (30th June 2008) called for greater access to bus lanes. A delegate survey of 130 motorcyclists, representing the IAM’s 19,000 motorcycle members, overwhelmingly supported bus lane access for bikers (92 per cent). The move could have significant improvements for the safety of motorcyclists, say the IAM.

Barnardos Suzuki Pair Invite All Riders For Send Off

Biking for Barnardos charity riders Dave Snelling and Kurtis Murphy start their round the world charity ride this Saturday (14th June), and are appealing to motorcyclists in the Morecambe area to join them in a send-off ride starting at midday. Leaving from the Eric Morecambe statue on the seafront in Morecambe at midday on Saturday, the pair will travel through 16 countries on their Suzuki V-Strom 650s, aiming to reach the east coast of Canada by the middle of November this year.

Molyneux & Sayle Take IOM TT Podium

Dave Molyneux and passenger Dan Sayle took an impressive runner-up finish in today's Sure Mobile Sidecar race two at the 2008 Isle of Man TT races. Following the disappointment of a 'DNF' earlier in the week, Team Molyneux Suzuki were back at the sharp end once more, battling with rivals Nick Crowe and Mark Cox for the three lap race this afternoon.

Pourcel and Cairoli on Pole for British MXGP

The British Grand Prix started under bright sunshine which no one was expecting. The weather should remain the same for the weekend when Sebastien Pourcel will start the MX1 Grand Prix from pole for the fourth time this season.

Focused Events KTM Super Duke Battle Round 2 & 3 Donington

Rounds two and three of the Focused Events KTM Super Duke Battle took place this bank holiday weekend alongside the British Superbike series at Donington Park. Strong winds and rain made conditions difficult but even so the crowds saw some close and very entertaining racing. Making his debut in the Battle was Richard Cooper, riding for the SJB Racing team. He immediately made an impact at the top of the field, qualifying in an impressive second place just behind series leader David Wood on the Art of Racing machine. Completing the front row was Kelvin Reilly of Inmoto Corse and Ed Smith of the Gear4 team.

FIM MX World Championship Discovers Mallory Park

Great Britain will play host to the sixth round of the FIM Motocross World series this weekend on the brand new course at Mallory Park, which was built inside the famous road racing facility. David Philippaerts leads the MX1 standings since the Portuguese Grand Prix while Tyla Rattray and Tony Cairoli are still battling tooth and nail for the MX2 lead, currently owned by the South African. In occasion of the British Grand Prix, the FIM Veterans’ Motocross World Cup will restart with the second of three rounds. Dutchman Toine van Dijk leads the points standings after Spain with home rider and last year’s Cup winner Dave Thorpe ready to fight back.

Rob Barber‚s Happy with First Couple of Sessions of TT 08

Rob wasn’t too happy during the first untimed session on Saturday as the bikes suspension where to hard. After a conversation with Andy White of KAIS performance about what to do with the suspension, Rob made some major change to both bike on Andy’s advice for Monday nights first qualifying. Rob first went out on the Dave Cottrell Suzuki GSXR 1000 as he was keen to get as many laps as possible on this bike as he has no experience on a 1000 at the TT. Rob was really pleased with the changed made and did 113mph lap from a standing start and bedding new brake pads in. On his second lap he did 115.5mph lap his quickest ever lap of the TT.

Tourist Trophy 2008

On the 6th June Ducati celebrates the 30th anniversary of Mike Hailwood’s legendary win and the 50th anniversary of its participation in the TT. The 2008 Tourist Trophy road race takes place from 24th May to 7th June, around the Isle of Man and this year’s event will be a special opportunity for race fans to celebrate this anniversary with Ducati. One of the prime reasons for celebration is undoubtedly the 30th anniversary of the 2nd June 1978, the date of Mike Hailwood’s unforgettable race to victory on a Ducati 900. It was as an incredible achievement as it was unexpected, as Hailwood came out of retirement and stunned the world of motorcycling by beating the odds-on favourite Phil Read on his Honda to complete a fairytale return to racing and the Isle of Man TT.
