After a string of top 20 results from both riders the team’s youngest rider Dan Moreton secured his first ever British Championship point by claiming 15th position last time out at Mallory Park. Since then the youngster from Northamptonshire has embarked on a new chapter in his racing career and will contest the final races under a new guise. Taboo Motorsport and its riders Michael Hill and Dan Moreton continued their early season form in the 3rd round of the British 125cc GP Championship at Brands Hatch earlier today. The grid for the 14 lap race was set at what should have been the opening round of the series so both riders used Saturday’s free practice sessions to further develop their 2008 machines. Both riders lapped over 1.5 seconds faster than when they originally qualified for the event.
Taboo Motorsport left the opening round of the British 125cc championship at Thruxton on a high last weekend after both riders displayed confidence and aggression in the 14 lap race.
After the disastrous none event at Brands Hatch a fortnight ago (caused by freak weather conditions including several inches of snow) TABOO Motorsport will make the journey to the Thruxton circuit in Hampshire this weekend for what will now be the opening round of the 2008 British 125cc Championship. After launching the team’s new look in style at Croft at the end of March, the new look team (consisting of team owner / rider Michael Hill and up and coming youngster Dan Moreton) had hoped for continued good form at the season opener but a few small technical issues coupled with the awful weather ended any such hope.
The Taboo Motorsport team had its first successful race weekend of the season with Michael Hill and new signing Dan Moreton both finishing on the podium at the North East Championship round at Croft this weekend. Following the official team launch on Friday the 28th March, Hill and Moreton took to the track to secure second and third places respectively on the grid during qualifying. They faced tough competition due to a strong field containing a total of six British 125GP riders.
