NEC International Motorcycle Show Opens with Action Packed Day

A star studded display of new bikes, top riders and important racing announcements kicked off The Carole Nash International Motorcycle and Scooter Show for its 20th visit to the Birmingham NEC. World Superbike star Ruben Xaus dropped in to unveil the awesome new BMW S1000 RR Superbike project, while manufacturers Yamaha and Kawasaki launched new racing teams in British and World Superbikes respectively. Other major marques Suzuki, Ducati and Honda uncovered radical new 2009 machines, whilst Harley-Davidson and KTM announced new, one-make race championships. Celebrity round-the-world explorer Charley Boorman made his own debut by testing out one of his most radical forms of transport to date, the Batman Batpod.

Britain’s Got Biking Talent Climaxes at NEC

Britain’s best custom bikes, as voted for by thousands of UK motorcyclists, are set to be revealed this Thursday (November 27th) as Britain’s Got Biking Talent climaxes at the Carole Nash International Motorcycle and Scooter Show. Organised by Carole Nash, the UK’s biggest bike insurance specialist, and bikers’ bible Motor Cycle News, the competition attracted hundreds of entries and nearly 20,000 votes from the great British biking public. The entries that flooded in from across the nation spanned the biking spectrum pitting custom against classic, racer against roadster. Now the day of reckoning is drawing near after the judges – who included MCN editor Marc Potter, controversial Daily Telegraph and MCN columnist, Kevin Ash and top UK customiser Roger Allmond – whittled down the top 50 bikes voted for by the public to the winning dozen.

Unique Custom Bike Built Live at the Carol Nash NEC Show

Custom bike builders Hawg Haven are set to construct a £30,000 monster live before bikers’ eyes at The Carole Nash International Motorcycle & Scooter Show. This truly unique machine will then be given away to one lucky visitor at the 2009 Show! The bike will be built against the clock under the ‘Carole Nash Construct’ banner on the motorcycle insurance giant’s attraction-packed stand, to be completed before the show closes on December 7th. (Hall 2, Stand 2C20). A four strong team, including Hawg Haven stalwarts Jon Quantrell and Terry Clarke, have been given a creative licence to build what they want, stipulating only that the finished machine should be painted in the company’s distinctive corporate blue, creating a marvel worth approximately £30,000.

Wonderful Harley Fun - West London Harley Riders - Custom & Classic Bike Show 2007

Roaring guitars were amongst the sounds heard yesterday at the West London Harley Riders Custom & Classic Bike Show, hosted at the Harefield Football Club in Middlesex. Activities ran throughout the lovely summer’s day to ensure that the massive crowd were kept entertained constantly. These included a Charity Auction in aid of Headway Bands, raffles, stalls, music from some great artists (including Rough Justice, The Hoggs and My Mate Kate) and a variety of food & drink marquis.

West London Harley Riders - Custom & Classic Bike Show 2007

The West London Harley Riders are hosting their annual Bike Show this weekend (Friday 3rd & Saturday 4th August) held at Harefield Football Club, in the hopefully sunny Middlesex. London Bikers has been very lucky to have been granted a very rare chance to gain press access to the whole event! As with any opportunity that we are given we throw all of our resources to ensure that we can cover the event from every angle, to report the best possible news article! Previous years have been jammed packed with style, class and a lot of lovely bikes!
