The latest research from HPI reveals that 1 in 5 motorcycles checked has a hidden history.

Special Arai Helmets Stolen

On the evening of Tuesday 24th February, 2009, our premises in Newcastle under Lyme were broken into and 5 irreplaceable helmets were stolen including a signed Barry Sheene replica. There are pics attached of the helmets and below is listed what was taken.

Four Men In Court Over Biker's Murder

Four men are being held in police custody and are due to appear in Court in connection with the death of Hell's Angel member Gerry Tobin. The 35 year old mechanic from south London was shot dead on the M40 motoway on the 12th of August on his return from the Bulldog Bash bikers' festival at Long Marston, near Stratford-upon-Avon. Mr Tobin was killed with a handgun in an execution syle shooting with a single shot to the back of the head, another shot was fired at him but hit his bike.

Valentino Investigated for Tax Fraud

Valentino Rossi, seven time motorcycle world champion has this week been checked out for tax evasion by the Italian tax authorities and could face a criminal investigation. Valentino was reported by Italy’s tax agency to the public prosecutor’s in his home town of Pesaro, which is on the Adriatic coast. It was said that on Wednesday 8th August that the tax office was investigating 28 year old Vale for a possible $82.8 million undeclared earnings from 2000 to 2004. It is alleged that Valentino, who has been a British resident since 2000, has not declared any revenues from his team or sponsorship to either the British or Italian tax authorities.

Westminster Daylight Robbery

Westminster Council is to start charging for motorcycle parking in central London. The new parking scheme will cost between £1 and £1.50 a day and is being brought in to tackle the dire shortage of parking available. Around 16,000 bikers head into central London everyday - this is up almost 40% in 10 years.

Few' Mobile Phone Drivers Caught Driver Using Mobile Phone

It is thought that 6.7m people could be driving whilst on the phone. Only 1.1% of the drivers who admit to using a mobile phone behind the wheel are getting caught, the Liberal Democrats have suggested. Figures released by the Home Office show that 74,000 drivers were caught and fined in 2004 in England and Wales.

Bike Theives Caught

Police have put the fear back into criminals to reduce motorcycle thefts in South Gloucestershire. An operation, which quite literally caught thieves in the act, has helped to dramatically reduce the number of mopeds being stolen in areas including Filton and Patchway. The initiative was launched three months ago to curb the rising number of thefts in South Gloucestershire which at its peak reached more than 60 reported thefts in one month.

Driver Faces Jail After Biker's Death

A TV producer who fled the scene of a fatal crash, in which a biker died, then claimed to have passed out in a field overnight, before contacting the Police, faces jail. Dafydd Evans, 41, left Darran Beynon, 24, dead, or dying, on the A40, rather than face Police and take a breath test for drunk driving. Evans had been at a Christening party earlier that day. Evans, pulled onto the A40 at Dryslwyn in October 2004 into the path of Mr Beynon's motorcycle. The Yamaha motorbike turned into a fireball on impact. Witnesses described the scene as `carnage.'

Motorcyclist drug dealer jailed
16 January 2006
Three members of a drugs ring were jailed today after their operation was smashed by undercover police. Motorcycle enthusiast Rod Budding, 40, used a customised 180mph bike to collect drugs from supplier Anthony Smith in Kent. The heroin and cocaine was destined for the streets of Bristol, where police said Budding was a "significant" player in the criminal underworld.

Bike Theft Warning in West and South West London

Lock up your bikes in West London say MAG (Motorcycle Action Group). West and South West London has been targeted with bike theft spree following the theft of at least a dozen bikes in the last week or so. The culprits, four white males in their early 20's have been using a silver transit van, of which the number plate has been cloned. All the following details were sent to MAG and confirmed by the police.

Our good friend Pete has had the number plate on his R1 cloned by an unscrupulous individual who is now riding around all over London racking up a series of offences. It has been reported to the police who are currently investigating the matter.
