Guintoli Ready for Crescent Suzuki Debut

Crescent Suzuki’s new British Superbike star Sylvain Guintoli will make his first official appearance for the team at the forthcoming International Motorcycle Show in Birmingham. Guintoli will be introduced to the media at a press conference on Thursday 27th November at 10.30 on the Suzuki stand; this will also be followed by a short autograph session. Guintoli will then return to the Suzuki display area – which is situated in hall one – at 14.00 and 16.00hrs for two more autograph sessions and to meet and greet fans.

New Crescent Suzuki British Superbike signing, Sylvain Guintoli, completed a successful first test on the 2008 GSX-R1000 at Brands Hatch today, declaring Suzuki's Superbike an 'impressive package', having finished racing in MotoGP only last month. The 26-year-old Frenchman, completed 88 laps around the Brands Hatch Indy circuit, getting used to the GSX-R1000 Superbike that took outgoing team rider Tom Sykes, to multiple race wins earlier this year.

Crescent Suzuki Wishes Sykes Well

Tom Sykes will leave the official Suzuki British Superbike team, operated by Crescent Motorcycle Co, at the end of this month after a very positive 2008 season. Sykes joined the team at the end of 2007 and they have worked well together throughout 2008, achieving regular podium finishes and three wins in the British Superbike Championship. He also raced to a fine second place finish as a wild card at World Superbike level at Donington Park, standing on the podium alongside World Champion Troy Bayliss.

Rizla Parts Company from Crescent Suzuki BSB Team

Rizla has decided to exit the British Superbike arena after seven successful years which have included many race victories and one British Superbike Championship in 2004.Alison Williams, Rizla Brand Manager said: "After seven years we have made the difficult decision to end our sponsorship of the Suzuki BSB team. I would like to thank all the past and present team members and riders for such a successful sponsorship. We wish the team the very best for the future."

Sykes Completes Road Test

Rizla Suzuki & Crescent at Goodwood 2008

Rizla and Crescent Suzuki are preparing to rev up the crowds at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed which will be held this weekend at Chichester in West Sussex. Rizla Suzuki’s current BSB contender, Tom Sykes, will be wowing the fans with his GSX-R1000 race bike as he takes to the famous Goodwood Hill climb. Also on hand to entertain the crowd is triple British Superbike Champion, John Reynolds, who will be reunited with his 2004 Championship winning machine and the all important number one plate. Another machine of interest, which will be ridden by Martyn James, Director of Crescent Motorcycle Co, is the 2000 factory Suzuki GSX-R 750. This is the bike which was ridden by Chris Walker in 2000 when he famously battled all season long with Neil Hodgson only to lose the Championship at the very last round.

Capirossi to Attend Donington MotoGP Race

Loris Capirossi is on his way to join the Rizla Suzuki MotoGP team for this weekend’s British Grand Prix at Donington, despite being sidelined with a broken hand and not being able to race. The experienced Italian broke the fifth metacarpus of his right hand at the Catalunya GP just 10 days ago and has undergone intense physiotherapy since then to repair the injury. Capirossi is now demonstrating his professional attitude and passion for the Rizla Suzuki MotoGP team by joining his crew and the rest of the squad for the team’s home Grand Prix, even though he knows he will just be a spectator and not a competitor. Capirossi will be at trackside for Sunday’s race and will be available to offer any advice and assistance to regular team-mate Chris Vermeulen and replacement rider Ben Spies – who will be deputising for Capirossi and making his MotoGP debut at the English circuit.

Crescent Suzuki Supports Sportslink Children’s Charity

SPORTSLINK, a charity which aims to raise money to take children with life shortening conditions to major sports events, kicked off an on-line auction of sporting memorabilia on Friday 23rd November. One of the items up for grabs is two VIP passes to MotoGP on 22nd June 2008 at Donington Park with Crescent Suzuki providing the hospitality. The charity is sponsored by 25 leading sports organisations and commercial concerns which range from the England Cricket Board to DAF Trucks and include six Formula 1 race teams and three leading football clubs. It is also well supported by motorcycle racing and Crescent Suzuki is more than happy to assist with the fund raising.

Crescent Appoints Valentine For 2008 BSB Season

Crescent has appointed renowned race guru Jack Valentine as Team Manager for Suzuki’s official British Superbike squad for the 2008 race season. Valentine, 54, from Oldham in Lancashire, has a long history in motorcycle racing, starting out with club racing on a Suzuki GS1000 in 1978. He has progressed through the racing world taking British Championship and TT victories on the way as an engineering consultant and within team management.

Join Stalker And JR For Ride Out
