Ducati Unveils New MotoGP Desmosedici GP10 At Wrooom

Wrooom Press Ski Meeting Madonna di Campiglio (TN): There was a packed schedule again on the second day of Wrooom 2010 at Madonna di Campiglio today, with Claudio Domenicali coming under the spotlight in this morning's press conference. The General Manager of Ducati Motor later joined Casey Stoner and Nicky Hayden on the spectacular Patascoss slope to unveil the new Ducati Desmosedici GP10, the Ducati Marlboro Team's latest weapon in the chase for the MotoGP title, against the dramatic backdrop of the Dolomites - recently added by Unesco to their World Natural Heritage list.

The second day of the Wrooom - MotoGP Press Ski Meeting 2009 took place under light but constant snowfall yesterday, forcing the presentation of the new Ducati Desmosedici GP9 to be put back until today, Thursday 15th January, when it will be unveiled against the spectacular backdrop of the Dolomite mountain range in Madonna di Campiglio. Today’s programme was still a packed one, however, with Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati Corse and General Director of Ducati Products, taking the chair in yesterday morning’s press conference.

The new Ducati models will today make their public debut before huge crowds at the eicma show in Milan. Last night’s global preview was a great success as ducati presented the stunning new streetfighter and welcomed the new 1198 and the limited edition 1098 R ‘Bayliss’ relpica to the superbike family. The 1100 monster completes the new additions for 2009. A catwalk more familiar to the Milan fashion week, set the scene for the entrance of the 2009 new additions to the Bologna manufacturer’s range. These dream bikes are the result of Italian genius and creativity and will capture the attention of visitors to the EICMA 2008, Milan’s international motorcycle show being held at the city’s international exhibition centre in Rho, from 4th to 9th November. From here they will go on to set new standards as they arrive on the international market.

Nicky Hayden to Join Casey Stoner at Ducati Marlboro Team

Ducati Corse hereby announces that Nicky Hayden will join its factory MotoGP team for 2009. The 27-year-old from Owensboro, Kentucky, will line up alongside Casey Stoner and will make his debut on the Desmosedici GP9 on the 27th October in a test immediately following the Valencia Grand Prix.

Day one at Wrooom - MotoGP Press Ski Meeting 2008 was action-packed with a press conference attended by reigning World Champion, Casey Stoner, and his new team mate, Marco Melandri, wearing the official Ducati Marlboro Team gear for the first time. The Ducati Desmosedici GP8 launch was set in the breathtaking scenery of Madonna di Campiglio in the Trento Dolomites. The two riders ceremoniously broke an ice sculpture to reveal the new bike in its 2008 livery and tomorrow, Ducati Corse CEO and General Director Ducati Motor Holding, Claudio Domenicali, will talk to the press about the bike's technical innovations.

Over 30,000 Fans Pack Into Bologna’s City Centre for Ducati Celebrations

More than 30,000 fans packed into the famous Piazza Maggiore square in the centre of Bologna yesterday (Sunday) for a spectacular event organised by the city and provincial authorities, together with the Borgo Panigale manufacturer, to celebrate Ducati’s fantastic World MotoGP title victory. The event was the climax of a series of initiatives involving the company and the city, which began on Saturday morning. Ducati fans and enthusiasts came from all over Italy and abroad to visit the factory and the museum, which were open to the public all weekend, while groups of motorcyclists peacefully invaded the city centre.

Ducati Marlboro Completes Glorious Season With 2nd & 5th

Ducati Marlboro Team rider Casey Stoner finished a hard-fought second in today's tense, season-ending Valencia Grand Prix watched by an appreciative 132,500 fans. Loris Capirossi finished his final race for the team in fifth place after a spirited ride from eighth on the grid. The race concluded a remarkable season for World Champion Stoner who has scored ten victories and a further four podiums from 18 races. The awesome Aussie scored a tally of 367 points equalling the all-time points record and putting him an amazing 125 points ahead of series runner-up Dani Pedrosa, who won today's race. Stoner's stunning run of victories and Capirossi's Motegi win also helped Ducati to the constructors' crown and the Ducati Marlboro Team to the teams' title.

The Ducati Marlboro Team enjoyed its greatest day in Japan today, Casey Stoner securing Ducati's first MotoGP World Championship and Loris Capirossi winning the race, run in tricky conditions on a drying track. The result triggered scenes of unbridled joy in the Ducati Marlboro Team pit, in the more than one thousand fans who watched the race in the Borgo Panigale Factory with the CEO Gabriele Del Torchio among them and in all the Ducatistis around the world.

The Ducati Marlboro Team have reached an agreement with Casey Stoner to take part in the 2007 MotoGP World Championship, with an option for the following year. The start of a new era for MotoGP, which will see 800 cc bikes taking the place of the 990 cc powered machines, also marks the start of a fresh chapter in Ducati.
