The Manageress : Molson Kawasaki's Lisa Church
28 May 2008
Aged just 28 Molson Kawasaki’s Lisa Church is one of the youngest team managers in the sport of motocross and most definitely the only female to front a factory team. She’s expertly managed the Church family’s race team for three and a half years now and during that time has implemented changes that have seen the team grow from a Kawasaki supported outfit to a full on factory team for 2008. With the Molson team’s home GP approaching at Mallory Park this weekend we caught up with Lisa at Molson Kawasaki's European base in Belgium to find out more about this enigmatic character and the work she does.

Pourcel And Sword Both On The Mend
26 August 2007
Team GPKR’s Christophe Pourcel underwent successful surgery yesterday afternoon in Marseille while Molson Kawasaki’s Stephen Sword will have the pins removed from his broken foot next week. After a long and painful transfer from Belfast to the hospital in Marseille Christophe Pourcel was welcomed by Dr Olivier Dufour and his colleagues, who then performed several tests. They discovered further damage to his shoulder and decided to operate on Thursday afternoon as the eighteen year old had lost sensation in parts of his lower body.

Christophe Pourcel Still in Hospital
23 August 2007
Today Christophe Pourcel is still hospitalised in Belfast after his heavy crash during warm-up for the Grand Prix of Northern Ireland last Sunday. The 2006 MX2 World Champion had been transfered from Antrim to Belfast, where he underwent further tests with a well known specialist to learn more about his injury. The exams revealed that he has broken his sacrum, the last bone of the spinal column; it is an ‘open book’ fracture and the doctors are still waiting to decide if he will need surgical reconstrution before rehabilitation. His French doctor Olivier Dufour is in permanent contact with the Irish staff, and apparently Christophe will be soon transfered back home to France.

Sébastien Clinched His Fifth Title
14 August 2007
Once more after Ernée three weeks ago, the French Championship round of Lacapelle Marival was under the Pourcel’s belt. Christophe and Sébastien dominated the races and shared the heat wins, with an overall success for Christophe followed by Sébastien who clinched his first MX1 French title. Lacapelle Marival was a perfect track for this final round, with a well prepared layout, sunny weather and big crowd for the last appearance of Christophe Pourcel and Mickael Pichon on a French MX track. During the timed practice session Pichon confirmed that he prepared this event seriously as he claimed the pole after a perfect lap, more than one second faster than anyone!

Sébastien had a great start from the gate in the first race but in the first corner he touched Ramon’s wheel and crashed.

Pourcel Runner-Up At His home Grand Prix
11 June 2007
The World Championship was back in Europe this weekend two weeks after the trip to Japan. On their home track of Saint Jean d’Angely the French riders left without celebrating any victory. Christophe Pourcel finished runner-up in the MX2 class, while Sébastien Pourcel took seventh place in MX1. Christophe owned a holeshot and won his qualifying race on Saturday and entered the starting grid first for the races. He chose a place in the middle of the gate for the opening moto but missed a decent start as he was around the tenth into the first corner. Sixth after the first lap, he needed seven circulations to come back to second behind Cairoli, who proved again to be a strong leader.

First GP Win This Season For Christophe Pourcel In Japan
27 May 2007
It seems that the Japanese round of the Motocross World Championship suits Christophe Pourcel and his Team GPKR. One year ago in Sugo he obtained the red plate as leader of the series and this weekend - on the bumpy Japanese track - he collected his first Grand Prix win of the season. Home of the Japanese round for three years now, Sugo is without any doubt one of the roughest track of the series. Designed in a natural valley, the circuit has a soft ground with sand and wood chippings mixed into the earth. After heavy rain on Friday the riders had to deal with deep ruts and bumps through practice and into the races on this challenging but demanding layout.

The track was demanding and the conditions were difficult for the riders, with warm temperatures and high humidity but the racing was once more again in both classes.
