Rizla Suzuki MotoGP Looking for More of the Same
Yesterday
Rizla Suzuki MotoGP is on its way to Le Mans in France, looking to emulate the result achieved by Chris Vermeulen last season. Vermeulen stormed to his maiden Grand Prix victory at the famous French circuit, a result that also gave Suzuki its first-ever victory in MotoGP since the introduction of the four-stroke regulations. Loris Capirossi will be planning to continue with the impressive race form he has shown this season since joining Suzuki. The Italian racer also tasted recent podium success at the French track when he finished second in 2006.

Capirossi & Vermeulen Robbed of Higher Finishes
5 Days ago
Rizla Suzuki MotoGP’s Loris Capirossi was deprived of at least a top five position at the Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai today, through a mixture of bad luck and a small mistake. Capirossi was looking to challenge for a much higher position on lap five, but an error at the end of the back straight caused the Italian racer to run off the track. He re-joined the race in 12th place and began the task of chasing down the pack in front of him. Capirossi used all his experience to close in and pass five more riders to move him into seventh on the penultimate lap, but he suffered a transmission problem on the last lap and crossed the line in ninth position. This result gave Capirossi seven points, and moved him up to fifth in the riders’ championship.

Good Qualifying Sees Rizla Suzuki's Near the front
6 Days ago
Rizla Suzuki MotoGP racers Loris Capirossi and Chris Vermeulen secured their best grid positions of the season so far during qualifying for tomorrow’s Chinese Grand Prix at Shanghai. Capirossi will start from the second row of the grid in sixth place, as the experienced Italian narrowly missed out on his first front row start for Suzuki. His best time of 1’58.941 was only 0.350 seconds away from the third fastest time, set by World Champion Casey Stoner, and but for a small mistake on his final lap Capirossi may well have been on the front row.

Capirossi Confident Ahead of Portuguese GP
13 April 2008
Rizla Suzuki MotoGP racer Loris Capirossi is positive he can deliver a good result from tomorrow’s Portuguese Grand Prix despite qualifying on the fourth row after a big crash at Estoril today. Capirossi (P12, 1’37.786, 22 laps) was on his first qualifying tyre when he made a mistake going into a fast right-hand turn and lost traction, causing him to crash very spectacularly at high-speed. The gutsy Italian picked himself up and managed to get back to the pit-box to continue with the session, but he was unable to better the time he had set previously on race tyres. Capirossi and his crew had made big improvements to his Suzuki GSV-R during the early part of the qualifying session and was on a competitive race-pace towards the top of the time-sheets, which is certainly an encouraging sign for tomorrow’s 28-lap race.

Rizla Suzuki Finds Clear Direction On First Day in Portugal
11 April 2008
Rizla Suzuki MotoGP racers Loris Capirossi and Chris Vermeulen both made steady progress during today’s rain-affected practice sessions at Estoril in Portugal. Heavy overnight rain had left the 4.182km Portuguese circuit very wet for this morning’s practice and although strong winds dried out the surface it still made conditions very difficult as a dry line appeared. With many wet patches on the track and air temperatures only getting up to 14ºC made getting a correct setting for both riders’ Suzuki GSV-Rs quite demanding throughout the day.

Fantastic Fifth For Capirossi At Jerez
30 March 2008
Loris Capirossi raced his Rizla Suzuki GSV-R to a brilliant fifth place at today’s Spanish Grand Prix at Jerez. Starting from 10th on the grid, Capirossi got a great start and was up to seventh at the end of lap one. He picked up another couple of places on lap three before settling into a strong and consistent race pace. Suzuki’s new Italian star came under pressure during the latter part of the race and was relegated back to seventh, but he used all his experience to fight back on the last lap and overtake James Toseland and Andrea Dovizioso on the final corner, a result that gives Suzuki its best finish from a MotoGP race at Jerez since the introduction of the four-stroke regulations.

Vermeulen Shines Through For Rizla Suzuki In The Arabian Night
08 March 2008
Rizla Suzuki MotoGP racer Chris Vermeulen finished the first night’s practice for this weekend’s Qatar Grand Prix by making a huge breakthrough with his Suzuki GSV-R, as he recorded the ninth fastest time around the 5.3km Losail International Circuit. Vermeulen completed 43 laps during this evening’s two practice sessions - the first-ever held at night using floodlights – clocking a quickest time of 1’56.279. The Australian star improved dramatically between the two sessions as he took almost a second-and-a-half off his best time from earlier in the evening. Vermeulen worked hard with his crew to solve a persistent problem during the first session, and he now believes that a significant improvement has been made that will allow him to use the 2008 Suzuki GSV-R to its full potential.

Rizla Suzuki Ready For Desert Night Race
04 March 2008
Rizla Suzuki MotoGP will be hoping to start the 2008 MotoGP season in style this weekend as the first race of the year takes place at night from the Losail International Circuit in Qatar. Loris Capirossi and Chris Vermeulen are both fresh from a two-night test at the 5.38km desert-based circuit, where they both made significant progress with the development of the 2008 Suzuki GSV-R. The first round of the season will mark a very significant moment in the 60-year history of Grand Prix motorcycle racing, marking the first time a race has been staged at night under artificial lighting conditions. The Losail circuit will be bathed in light from thousands of high-tech bulbs that give off enough illumination to almost allow the riders to wear dark visors!

Positive Steps After A Hard Day’s Night For Rizla
01 March 2008
Rizla Suzuki MotoGP racers Chris Vermeulen and Loris Capirossi both made encouraging improvements during the final tough session of testing at Losail in Qatar tonight. The riders were again testing under the floodlights of Qatar’s 5.38km Losail International Circuit as they prepared themselves for next week’s Grand Prix – also under the lights in Qatar. Vermeulen was quick to capitalise on the progress he made in yesterday’s test and his best time of 1’56.119 from his 73 laps was good enough to give him eighth place on the timesheets. He continued to search for the optimum set-up of his Suzuki GSV-R and is convinced that his crew has succeeded in making a big step in the right direction.
