Local Way Round the East
07 November 2008
Inspired by The Long Way Round and The Long Way Down, BBC Radio Presenter Luke Ashmead is aiming to raise money for Children In Need and raise awareness of how your money is spent at some of the wonderful projects in the east of England. Unlike McGregor and Boorman who used powerful 1150cc all terrain bikes Luke will do all this from the seat of a 110cc scooter travelling the A and B roads of the region. Starting from Milton Keynes, Luke's trip will see him head to projects in Bedfordshire and Hertfordhsire before setting off to Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk, on to Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire before returning to the three Counties in Milton Keynes and the back to base in Luton. A trip of around 500 miles.
