The FIM SuperMoto Grand Prix of Catalunya is now set to happen on the November 15 weekend at Salou, Spain. This date replaces the previous one - November 1.

Repsol Honda rider Andrea Dovizioso topped the timesheets today as the MotoGP teams returned to the Montmelo circuit near Barcelona for a day’s testing. After coming within millimeters of securing his first podium for Repsol Honda in yesterday’s Grand Prix of Catalunya here, the Italian and his crew made full use of the track time to test the latest developments of the factory RC212V.

Starting the 25-lap race from the second row of the grid, the American lost four places in a typically frenetic opening lap before settling into a consistently fast rhythm as temperatures again soared close to 40 degrees.

Elias Secures Second Row Start at Home Race

San Carlo Honda Gresini Team rider Toni Elias will start the Catalunya Grand Prix from the second row of the grid after qualifying in an excellent fifth position today. After two days of hard work in gruelling Spanish summer heat, with ambient temperatures of 38ºC and 52ºC registered on the track surface, Elias made huge strides forward with his race set-up in the afternoon and was able to set an excellent flying lap after fitting a new soft rear tyre in the closing stages.

The Italian made his intent clear at the start of the day, recording the second fastest time of the morning session and clocking an improvement of 1.1s over his best lap from yesterday.
