Ducati Marlboro Team Bounce Back to Form in China
5 Days ago
The Grand Prix of China saw both Ducati Marlboro Team riders return to the top five as Casey Stoner clinched third place and Marco Melandri produced his best performance of the season with a battle to fifth. Stoner had hoped to be more involved in the battle for victory but a dramatic change in the track conditions led to a different tyre choice than in practice, which limited the Australian's performance. However, the podium is still a positive finish to the weekend for the World Champion, who remains fourth in the championship.

Rossi Back in Business
Write him off at your peril – a magnificent display by 29 year old Valentino Rossi that rolled back the years as he won the Pramac Grand Prix of China in Shanghai this afternoon. It was classic Rossi, reeling off faster and faster laps on the Fiat Yamaha to finally break the resolve of a very determined Dani Pedrosa who not only finished an impressive second but also took over the lead in the World Championship. It was Rossi first win since Portugal last year and his first on Bridgestone tyres and he lies third in the Championship, nine points behind Pedrosa. World Champion Casey Stoner was a lonely third after the wrong tyre choice on the start and finish line when the earlier rain stopped and the track started to dry.

Stoner Rides Around Problems
13 April 2008
Casey Stoner produced another example of the class and maturity that made him World Champion as he overcame an unfortunate technical problem to salvage a worthy sixth place. Shortly after the start of the race a part of the on-board camera on Casey's GP8 came lose, flapping dangerously between his handlebars and front fairing. After dropping all the way back to eleventh place, Stoner showed great composure and skill to fix the problem himself before putting together a sensational comeback that saw him set the fourth fastest lap of the race on his way to sixth place. That was enough to seal 10 crucial points that keep the Australian holding firmly to fourth place in the championship.

Set-Up Troubles Put Brakes On Stoner's Qualifying
13 April 2008
Casey Stoner was today forced to rely heavily on the talent and class that made him a World Champion in order to secure a third row start for the Grand Prix of Portugal following a particularly difficult qualifying practice. It is an unusual situation for Casey and the team, who are used to finding a set-up quickly and taking full advantage of the GP8's potential. The Australian, who was clearly not happy at not being able to challenge for a front position, held a long debrief with his engineers at the end of the session as they formulated a plan for tomorrow's warm-up session. He then gave a firm handshake to each and every one of his mechanics in a show of unity that proves every member of the team is committed to turning around this difficult situation.

Ducati Marlboro Team Ready For Another Huge Challenge
04 April 2008
Following on from a fruitful day of testing after the second round of the season at Jerez, which allowed the Ducati Marlboro Team to resolve some of the problems experienced during the weekend in Spain, the riders and staff are now ready to tackle the third instalment of 2008 at the Estoril circuit in Portugal. The Autodromo Fernando Pires de Silva is notorious for its lack of grip and it promises to be another tough challenge for the team. However, the technicians and riders are as prepared as always to give 100% at a circuit where Casey Stoner overcame a problematic race to seal a crucial podium last year, when Marco Melandri crossed the line in fifth place.

Positive Tests For Stoner & Melandri At Jerez
31 March 2008
The Ducati Marlboro Team concluded their visit to Jerez de la Frontera on Monday with a day of tests that both Casey Stoner and Marco Melandri rated as highly positive, despite the Italian having ended the session early due to a crash. Melandri was not seriously injured in the crash, escaping with damage to a nail on his left hand, and was just disappointed that he didn't get to complete an otherwise satisfactory day of set-up work that had only just begun to bear fruit.

Tough But Determined Race For Stoner & Melandri
30 March 2008
It certainly wasn't an easy Grand Prix of Spain for the two Ducati Marlboro Team riders at the tricky Jerez circuit but a show of character and determination. For Casey Stoner, who was never completely comfortable with the set-up of his GP8 all weekend, his desire to give 100% combined with a touch of bad luck saw him run into the gravel twice.
