World Motocross Championship – Mallory Park

The World’s best Motocross riders are due to hit British shores on the weekend of the 31st May/1st June for round six of the FIM World Motocross Championships. The event is to be staged for the first time at the very central Mallory Park Circuit, Leicestershire. After months of planning the new track is now completed in preparation for the top MX riders to come and demonstrate their skills and talents and prove why they are at the elite of the elite in their sport. There will be entertainment for all the family, a beer tent plus live bands will be performing alongside a huge fun fair to meet the requirements of all the fans that are set to attend the two day meeting.

Pourcel & Cairoli Win Portuguese Thriller at Agueda

The Portuguese Grand Prix got underway today in front of 18000 fans who saw two Italians David Philippaerts (MX1) and Antonio Cairoli (MX2) clinch the World Championship lead at the end of an eventful weekend. The MX1 Grand Prix was won by Sebastien Pourcel, to close a perfect weekend as he clocked also the pole yesterday. Philippaerts was second overall while countryman Cairoli won the MX2 Grand Prix from KTM fellow riders Tyla Rattray and Tommy Searle.

FIM MX GP Campaign To Begin At Sandy Valkenswaard

Last year the sandy Valkenswaard Eurocircuit opened the first season of World Motocross without ten time World Champion Stefan Everts, who had retired at the end of 2006. It will be a different season opener this year, with Belgian two time World Champion Steve Ramon (MX1) and flamboyant Antonio Cairoli (MX2) from Italy to defend their Titles from a tough opposition who will show no mercy right from round one.

Nunn Joins Supercross Race Of Champions At Liverpool

Former British Supercross and Motocross Champion Carl Nunn will make his return to British Supercross competition at Liverpool's brand new Echo Arena on January 25th and 26th for rounds two and three of the Future West ACU British Supercross Championship. Nunn who was unable to get his new Motovision ride ready in time for Sheffield is now ready to put his mark on the series and his Suzuki on top of the podium.

Swanepoel Ends British Campaign With Third Place

Molson Kawasaki were able to end the 2007 Maxxis British Championship with two of their riders in the top five of the overall MX2 standings as Gareth Swanepoel confirmed third position and Tom Church fourth with their results at Pontrilas for the final round of the series. A hard and fast course on the Welsh border awaited the MX2 class in the last of eight domestic meetings this season. Under clear sunny skies American Mike Brown narrowly won the title by finishing in third position, while Swanepoel and Church were fifth and seventh respectively on the day.

Flying Scot Mackenzie Aims For Home Glory

Billy Mackenzie is planning to spoil the party in the Park for the five riders chasing the World MX1 Championship at this Sunday’s penultimate round at Donington Park – the determined Scot has enjoyed home glory before and is eager for more at this all new event to the Leicestershire circuit. He goes head to head with Kiwi Josh Coppins who returns from injury to boost his hopes of winning elite crown. The Yamaha rider has missed a couple of rounds after damaging his shoulder in a tumble and that has allowed his rivals to close in.

World Title Showdown

Five riders power into the penultimate round of the World Motocross Championship at Donington Park on August Bank Holiday Sunday knowing that they can secure the crown with a strong performance in the British Motocross Grand Prix. Kiwi Josh Coppins should have won his race against time to be fit to defend his slender lead in the premier MX1 category – the Yamaha rider has been nursing a shoulder injury and his absence from the previous two rounds has enable the pack to play catch-up on him.

Cairoli Stays On Podium After Tricky Japanese GP

Yamaha De Carli's Antonio Cairoli saw his winning streak of five Grand Prix come to an end in Japan but the Sicilian - who announced a new three year agreement with Yamaha the same day - took a second moto win and second position overall behind arch-rival Christophe Pourcel in the sixth meeting of the MX2 campaign. Sugo was another capable circuit on which Cairoli could show off his speed and skills. The mud was hugely technical by virtue of the holes, dips and bumps that carved very quickly into the surface. The course demanded concentration but also allowed for individual expression thanks to the choice in racing lines and vast jumps.

Excellent Weekend For KTM

Champ KTM riders Marc de Reuver and Carl Nunn were in action at a sunny but cold Cadders Hill circuit for the opening round of eight in the 2006 Maxxis British Championship. On a damp and rough track the duo claimed the top two positions during the first moto and despite a crash after a run-in with a back marker late in the second race, De Reuver was able to complete a double success. The Dutchman was making a one-off appearance in the highly competitive British series after racing at HawkstoneParkthe week previously and then remaining in the UKat the home of his agent and former KTM World Champion Jamie Dobb.
