Meet GSE Stars at the NEC Bike Show

GSE Racing’s Leon Camier and James Ellison have today announced their attendance at The Carole Nash International Motorcycle and Scooter Show, which begins this week at the Birmingham NEC. Fans of the duo can meet the British Superbike stars at the Yamaha stand where they will be signing autographs from the 28th to the 30th November. They will then return to the show on Saturday 6th December. His attendance at the UK'S largest motorcycle event will mark James’ first public appearance as a member of GSE Racing.

Sensational Double for Byrne

The 2008 British Superbike Champion Shane Byrne scored a double victory in his final outing for the Airwaves Ducati team this weekend. Teammate Leon Camier followed a 5th in race one with a hard fought 3rd in race two, helping Ducati to secure the manufacturer‚s title by 35 points. After losing a place at the start of the first race, Shane took the lead on lap 2. Posting the fastest time of the race with a 46.194, he eventually took the chequered flag nearly 2 seconds ahead of the rest of the field. Leon got away well from 6th and soon made his way up to 5th where he would remain.

Promising Start to Season Finale for Airwaves Ducati

The final race weekend of the 2008 British Superbike season got underway at Brands Hatch today. Newly crowned champion Shane Byrne finished both free practice sessions in 3rd. His Airwaves Ducati teammate Leon Camier finished 5th and 6th.

Airwaves Ducati Target Manufacturers Title

After sealing the British Superbike Championship a fortnight ago, the Airwaves Ducati team travels to Brands Hatch this weekend intent on helping Ducati secure the 2008 manufacturers title. Aboard the 1098R, Shane Byrne and Leon Camier have so far claimed 11 victories and a further 15 podium places, helping Ducati to a 25 point lead in the championship standings.

The anniversary celebrations involved a host of motorcycle racing stars being reunited with some of the iconic bikes that have graced the racing world in a variety of categories and championships.

Although holding mixed memories for riders Shane Byrne and Leon Camier, both are eager to get back into action at the 2.173 mile Lincolnshire circuit. Being one of his favourite tracks on the British Superbike calendar and the scene of his 2003 championship win, series leader Shane is excited about the weekend ahead at Cadwell Park.

Sykes & Haslam Gunning for Glory

Fresh from their Scottish victories, Tom Sykes and Leon Haslam are eager for more of the same as the chase for the Bennetts British Superbike crown moves into the final third of the campaign at Cadwell Park over the Bank Holiday weekend. The man they have to beat is former champion Shane Byrne who has amassed a 110 points lead in the title stakes – the Airwaves Ducati rider has recovered from the bruising he took in a heavy tumble at Knockhill and is promising to show what might have been in that race. Byrne has won eight races so far, not finishing off the podium until that crash last time out, but he is taking nothing for granted as the young-guns of the series make determined challenges.

CSS Filmed for TV..., CSS Merchandise, CSS Bikes for Sale!

California Superbike School are to appear on Motors TV later this year. A range of merchandise featuring the CSS branding is available and the chance is here to find a reasonably priced Yamaha R6 or R1. If you were at the last few Rockingham and Brands Hatch schools, you couldn't have failed to notice a film crew following the progress of three students. Derek Redmond - former Olympic 400m runner, Al Fagan - Road tester and racer for Fast Bikes magazine and Sheela Hollywood - executive producer of the forthcoming programme. The programme will follow the students progress through the levels, and will also feature what it takes to become a CSS Coach. Interviews with Andy Ibbott, Leon Camier and Keith Code archive footage.

Up & Down Weekend for Airwaves Ducati

Despite failing to finish the second race of the day, Airwaves Ducati rider Shane Byrne extended his lead in the British Superbike Championship today to 110 points after achieving a 2nd place finish in race one. Leon Camier finished 5th and 8th to secure valuable championship points. Race one was declared wet although rain stopped falling as the riders took off for their sighting lap. Both Airwaves Ducati riders initially got away well from the line, but Shane was to lose a couple of places by the first corner, slotting into 5th with Leon behind him in 6th. Shane pushed hard to get himself up to 2nd however, any further progress was to be hampered by a number of back markers. Leon managed to successfully withstand pressure from Michael Laverty on the Suzuki to cross the line in 5th.

The Airwaves Ducati team today made a promising start to round 8 of the British Superbike Championship at Knockhill with Shane Byrne finishing the day fastest in Free Practice 1and joint fastest in Free Practice 2. Team mate Leon Camier finished 8th and 7th.

Leon Haslam and Shane Byrne jointly topped the free practice leaderboard ahead of the eighth round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship at the short, but challenging Knockhill circuit in Fife. In a fast, and frantic session, just 0.008 seconds separated the top four riders, with Tom Sykes and Cal Crutchlow continuing their recent strong form as they closed in on the leading duo in an afternoon session in which the top ten riders were little more than half a second apart.

Airwaves Ducati Aim to ‘kick Up a Gear’ at Knockhill

The Airwaves Ducati team travel to Knockhill this weekend for round 8 of the British Superbike Championship with both of its riders determined to secure more valuable championship points at the 1.27 mile circuit. Series leader Shane Byrne has so far this season managed to open up a 99 point lead over his nearest competitor in the championship, but is keen to get back to his winning ways after a couple of third place finishes at Oulton Park.

Two Podiums for Byrne at Oulton Park

Airwaves Ducati rider Shane Byrne leaves Oulton Park leading the British Superbike Championship by 99 points after achieving two third place finishes at round 7. Following his heavy fall during qualifying, Leon Camier did not compete in today’s races. After dropping back to 7th at the start of race one, Shane fought his way through the field to take 3rd position on lap 14 of 18. Shane was able to close the gap on the leading pair, crossing the line just 0.310 seconds behind James Ellison to take the final podium spot for Airwaves Ducati.

Byrne on The Front Row for Airwaves Ducati

Airwaves Ducati rider Shane Byrne will start on the front row for round 7 of the British Superbike Championship. Shane achieved the 2nd fastest time in qualifying at Oulton Park today. Team mate Leon Camier will start from row 8. After a wet practice session in the morning, which both Airwaves Ducati riders decided to sit out, qualifying was to remain dry for the full 50 minutes. Shane pushed hard throughout the session and his fastest lap time of 1:36.590 came on lap 22 of 24.

Airwaves Ducati Kick Off Round 7 at Oulton Park

The Airwaves Ducati team returned to Oulton Park today for Round 7 of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship. Both Airwaves Ducati riders continually improved their times during the day, posting their fastest laps during the second practice session. Shane Byrne’s fastest time of 1:37.142 secured him 3rd whilst Leon Camier’s best time of 1:37.268 resulted in a 5th place finish. Shane had been looking forward to coming back to the track where he secured his first double win of the 2008 season and used the days two practice sessions to build on what the team had learnt from their last visit to Oulton Park.
