Calafat Test a Success For Airwaves Ducati

Airwaves Ducati today completed their second successful test of 2008. The 2.02 mile Calafat circuit presented some difficult conditions for the riders but both were pleased with their performance throughout the 4 day test.

Airwaves Ducati Prepare For Second Test

Airwaves Ducati will head to Calafat in Spain this weekend for their second test of 2008. Having completed a very successful 3 day test in Almeria last week the team are keen to get back to work at the 2.02 mile Catalonian circuit, where they will be testing from Monday 10th until Thursday 13th March.

Rizla Suzuki Completes Successful Test

THE Rizla Suzuki British Superbike team completed its third and final day of a hugely productive private test at the Spanish circuit of Calafat today. High winds stopped the riders, Tom Sykes and Atsushi Watanabe, bettering their pace from yesterday but they still made progress with the GSX-R1000K8’s. Sykes completed 59 laps on track running a consistently fast pace. He worked his way through a number of shock absorber specifications and chassis geometry changes. Although no slouch off the start line, Sykes also spent time practicing his starts and getting used to the launch control on his Rizla Suzuki.

Sykes Sizzles at Rizla Suzuki’s Spanish Test

Rookie of the Year, Tom Sykes put in a blistering performance during the final day of testing at Calafat in Spain, successfully rounding off Rizla Suzuki’s three day pre-2008 season test. Both Sykes and his new team-mate, two times Japanese Superbike Champion Atsushi Watanabe, put in over 200 laps each at the 3.25km track aboard their Rizla Suzuki GSX-R 1000K7 race bikes, in what the team has heralded as a very successful test.

Perfect Start For Rizla Suzuki

Rizla Suzuki’s Cal Crutchlow and Chris Walker finished their first test of 2007 at Calafat in Spain in confident mood and not even the rain that stopped the action halfway through the final day could dampen their spirits. Ideal weather conditions yesterday and up until lunchtime today allowed Cal to complete 105-laps of the twisty 3.5km circuit. He concentrated on finding a neutral base setting on day one before experimenting with new Dunlop tyres, Ohlins suspension and chassis settings on the second day, posting an impressive 1:25.5s fastest lap.

Rizla Suzuki Starts Test Programme

Rizla Suzuki British Superbike racers Chris Walker and Cal Crutchlow will start their busy pre-season test programme next week in a private two-day session at the Spanish Calafat circuit. When the racers take to the twisty 3.5km circuit on Wednesday 7th and Thursday 8th February, it will be the first time they have access to two full race specification Rizla Suzuki GSX-R1000 race bikes each.
