Club MSV: Cadwell Trackday Incorporates Free Buell Test Ride

MotorSport Vision’s trackday division, Club MSV, is hosting an event at Cadwell Park on 4th June in association with Buell UK, and bike enthusiasts will have the unique chance to sample a Buell free of charge at the circuit nicknamed the ‘Mini-Nurburgring’. Riders who book on to this event will not only be able to ride their own machine on circuit, but they will also have the opportunity appraise a selection of the American manufacturer’s new 2008 range.

Aprilia USA Fastest in First Ever SunTrust MOTO-ST Series Qualifying

The defending SunTrust MOTO-ST Series champions Aprilia USA/Lloyd Brothers Motorsports will start on pole position for Sunday’s VIR SunTrust MOTO-ST 500k at Virginia International Raceway in Danville, Va. In the first qualifying session in the series two-year history Ty Howard of Weatherford, Tex. took the No. 1 Aprilia Tuono 1000R around the 3.27-mile VIR track in one minute, 59.443 seconds for an average speed of 98.557 miles per hour. Howard and teammate Mike Himmelsbach of Quakertown, Penn. won the season opening event at Daytona International Speedway and the No. 1 Aprilia leads the standings in the Buell Motorcycle Company SuperSport Twins (SST) class heading into this weekend’s second round of the series.

First to sign up for the SunTrust MOTO-ST Series season opener March 2 at Daytona International Speedway is the two bike Roadracingworld.com Suzuki team. “We are ready to roll,” says Chris Ulrich who, along with co-riders Cory West and Michael Barnes will pilot the Number 18 Roadracingworld.com Suzuki in the Buell Motorcycle Company SuperSport class (SST). “We nailed the victory at the 8 Hours At Daytona at the end of last season and now we are back to do it again. Being Number One is what racing is all about and being the first team to enter the race at Daytona sends a message to the competition that we are definitely ready to go for it.”

McWilliams Buell Expires Again

Jeremy McWilliams, riding a Buell XBRR for the combined Warr’s of London Harley-Davidson/Buell (Great Britain) and Hal’s Harley-Davidson/Buell (New Berlin, Wis.) teams, qualified 11th for the Lockhart Phillips USA Formula Xtreme event at the 2006 AMA Superbike Championship at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, Calif.

McWilliams and Penzkofer lead the way for BUELL XBRR Debut

The recently launched Buell XBRR limited-edition racing motorcycle will make its debut at the 2006 Daytona 200 (March 11), the AMA Formula Xtreme season opener. Four Buell dealership teams are set to compete in Daytona including London’s Warr’s Harley-Davidson/Buell and Germany’s Hannover Buell. Former 250 GP and Moto GP star Jeremy McWilliams spearheads the Warr’s challenge in Florida and 2005 BMW Motorrad Power cup rider Rico Penzkopfer rides for Hannover Buell.

Buell Launch Track Only Model

At last, a manufacturer of sportbikes has realised what UK riders have known for the last two or three years; sportbike riders are being targeted by the Police for revenue, so buying a pure track bike is a licence preserving alternative. So Buell have decided to make the Buell XBRR Production Racer aimed at the British market. It's a shame that Buell are only going to only be making a very limited edition of 50 of these track orientated bikes, and there's no word on price yet.
