Hammers Name New Signing in Play Off Line Up

Experienced Polish rider Krzysztof Jablonski will be the surprise addition to the Lakeside Hammers Speedway team as they take to the track in the biggest meeting in the Club’s 25 year history, the first leg of the Elite League Grand Final, this coming Monday, 6th October.

Hammers Drop Tomicek

Lubos Tomicek, the Lakeside Hammers Czech reserve, has informed the Essex based Club that, owing to his continued worries over the reaction to his head injuries should he fly and his wish to race in both the Czech Golden Helmet this coming Sunday and his Grandfather’s Memorial meeting on the Monday, he will be unavailable for the home leg of the Elite League Play-Off Final, which takes place against the Poole Pirates at the Arena-Essex Raceway this coming Monday.

Cook Hails Victorious Hammers

The Lakeside Hammers saw history made at the Arena Essex Raceway last night as the club reached the Elite League Play off Final with a resounding victory over fellow semi finalists, Swindon. "The last few weeks have been a testing time for the team, with major injuries to three of our top riders. Last night was a big ask but we went in with a game plan and everyone played their part," said team boss, Jon Cook.

Davidsson Fails in His Bid to Return for the Hammers

Lakeside Hammers Swedish star Jonas Davidsson has failed in his brave bid to make it back in time for tonight’s play off semi final against Swindon. He scored just one point yesterday on his comeback, riding for Bydgoszcz in Poland, and now realises that he is way off from being fit to return to racing.

Hammers Prepare for Biggest Night

Thursday's culmination of Elite League fixtures saw Swindon consolidate their place in the Play Off semi final against the Hammers at the Arena Essex Raceway on Monday night.

Hammers Prepare for the Play Offs

Hammers boss, Stuart Douglas, was glued to the live Sky Sports Speedway last night (Monday) in the hope that the play off picture became a little clearer. Already successfully into the play off semi final themselves, with the crucial home leg gained as a result of the successful season long campaign, the Hammers are still waiting to see who will be their opponents next Monday 29th September at the Arena-Essex Raceway.

Hammers Bring in Jedrzejak for Championship Run In

The Lakeside Hammers have strengthened their injury hit squad in readiness for the Elite League Play offs by signing Polish star Tomasz Jedrzejak on loan from Belle Vue. Jedrzejak has been out of British Speedway for several seasons and in that time has established himself as a quality rider in both Swedish and Polish League racing. He just failed to make next year's Grand Prix series after scoring 11 points in yesterday's GP Challenge meeting, finishing ahead of a score of top Elite perfomers.

Happy Hammers now Dream of Title Win

After an excellent two days on track the Lakeside Hammers management team of Stuart Douglas and Jon Cook are now targeting a top of the table finish and the title of League winners. The team will prepare for three matches in as many days next week with the final away meeting of the season at Peterborough on Thursday 18th sandwiched between a double helping of Raceway action.

More Injury Woes as Hammers Team Boss Juggles His Pack

The Lakeside Hammers go into this week’s make or break clashes with Belle Vue and Ipswich with just three of their regular team after confirmation from the Czech Republic that young reserve Lubos Tomicek will be out of action for the next ten days as the result of concussion sustained in Sweden a week ago.

Hammers & Holta Rule Out UK League Debut

The Lakeside Hammers have confirmed that number one target Rune Holta will not be racing for the Club for the rest of the season after the rider was advised to reduce his racing commitments as the result of a shoulder injury, which he has been battling with for some weeks.
