Drama for Bevan at Brands!
Keen to overcome the disappointment of his Oulton Park race last week, Co-ordit Superstock pilot Phil Bevan turned in a spirited performance to hold off a strong race-long challenge from Michael Elliott to finish fourteenth and collect his first two Championship points (11 May). Drama ensued from the start for Bevan as, starting deep in the pack, the Cardiff rider made a great start but was clipped by Alex Camier’s Kawasaki. Bevan escaped, unscathed but Camier and a number of other riders crashed bringing out the Safety Car and ultimately the Red Flag while riders were attended to and wreckage cleared from the track.

Tough Weekend for Jentin Racing
There was certainly a very mixed weekend for the Lloyds British backed Jentin Racing team and their rider Simon Andrews at the rescheduled Brands Hatch round. After the cancellation of the opening Bennetts British Superbike round back in April due to heavy snow the meeting was rescheduled for a shorter two day event this weekend, 10th and 11th May. In scorching hot conditions Andrews gained a solid ninth place position in race one and was very unlucky to crash out of the second 20-lap race whilst battling for a top placing. Having qualified in seventh place at the opening round he was promoted to sixth on the grid after Karl Harris was missing due to injury.

Four Top Ten Finishes for MSS
With sun beating down on the famous Kent circuit, Brands Hatch on Sunday was a million miles away from the snow bound, depressing sight it was just a few weeks ago. Race one saw both MSS Discovery riders make a good start and avoid any early lap issues which can so easily cost places. A race long scrap with ex Grad Prix rider, James Ellison, saw Easton display his usual accuracy and smooth riding style. Dicing with Ellison for many laps, eventually the Hawick based rider had to give best and finished in seventh place when his rear tyre moved on its rim which in turn, caused vibration and had an effect on the handling of his Ninja ZX-10R.

Stunning Results for Centurion at Brands
Not only was the weather stunning at Brands Hatch but as were the results from the Centurion Racing team. James Westmoreland and Dan Cooper secured two fantastic results in the rescheduled Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport Championship at Brands Hatch, taking a fourth and 11th place respectively. Having already qualified at the beginning of April, before the race was abandoned due to heavy snow, the Centurion duo had put their Honda's in 12th, Westy and 20th, Cooper on the grid. The race initially was the opening round of the Championship and the two were struggling to get to grips with their new Pirelli tyres and therefore were unable to place themselves higher on the starting grid.

Byrne & Crutchlow Take the Victories at Brands
4 Days ago
Cal Crutchlow powered through the pain barrier to take third place, adrift of Shane Byrne and Tom Sykes, and then took a victory in the re-scheduled round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Brands Hatch. The HM Plant Honda rider sustained a dislocated right ankle and ligament damage in a crash in the Holiday Monday round at Oulton Park and was passed fit to race after lengthy treatment by the Coventry City physio and series’ medics. He had started alongside Byrne at the front of the grid – the positions had been decided five weeks earlier at the snow aborted opening round, and in total contrast the races were fought out over a sun-drenched Kent grand prix circuit.
