FIM MX GP of Bulgaria – Last Info

The FIM Motocross World Championship is back to Sevlievo, the venue winner of the Best Organizer Awards of 2006 and 2007. Today was a rainy day in the area of Sevlievo, with the sun coming out only at mid afternoon and the trackbeing currently wet. Yamaha Monster Motocross’ David Philippaerts enters this fourth round with the red plate on his factory Yamaha; this is the first time the Italian has to defend the Championship lead and he will surely face a strong opposition, headed by current runner up and defending MX1 World Champion Steve Ramon of Teka Suzuki WMX1.

Suzuki MX Teams’ Presentation

In occasion of the FIM Motocross Grand Prix of the Netherlands to take place this weekend, April 5th and 6th, at Valkenswaard, Suzuki decided to present its Motocross racing activities at the GRP (Geboers Racing Promotion) headquarters, in Lommel, Belgium. 2008 will see Suzuki’s strong involvement both in the MX1 and in the MX2 classes with the RM-Z machines.

Revitalised Line-up For Team Suzuki Swift

The 2008 season will see a revitalised line-up for Team Suzuki Swift as they announce the signing of headline acts - Pascal Leuret, Brad Anderson and up-and-coming young-gun Jake Nicholls. The team, that exploded onto the scene in 2007, run by the renowned Banks family, will return stronger in 2008 with factory backing for Leuret in the World and British MX2 class, and for the first time an entry into MX1 with Brad Anderson.

British Championship Goes To The Last For Mackenzie

Kawasaki Racing Team’s Billy Mackenzie finished second overall at the penultimate round of eight in the 2007 Maxxis British Championship and now leads the high-profile national competition by eight points ahead of the final race on September 9th at Pontrilas. On the small but sandy and technical Brampton circuit in northern England Mackenzie finished 3rd and 2nd in the two motos and climbed the podium behind reigning champion and current main rival Ken de Dycker.
