Podiums for Crutchlow & Haslam at Mallory
5 Days ago
HM Plant Honda’s Cal Crutchlow took a pair of third places at today’s Bennetts British Superbike races at Mallory Park, putting him back into second place in the championship. His team-mate Leon Haslam took a superb second in the first race, but slipped to sixth in the second outing with a tyre choice that didn’t suit the drying conditions on the 1.41-mile Leicestershire track. In the Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport Championship Steve Brogan crashed his HM Plant Honda CBR600RR out of the race and broke two bones in his foot. The 27-year-old rider is banking on being fit for the second meeting of the season at Oulton Park in around three weeks time. Today’s race schedule at Mallory Park did not include the Metzeler National Superstock 1000 championship.

HM Plant Honda Aiming High at Mallory
26 June 2008
Mallory Park beckons this weekend for the HM Plant Honda squad. Both Cal Crutchlow and Leon Haslam have the daunting task of catching runaway Bennetts British Superbike leader Shane Byrne on his Airwaves Ducati. During a test session last week at Cadwell Park, both riders made small improvements to their HM Plant Honda CBR1000RR Fireblades and will be aiming to gain as many points as possible. With no Superstock race this weekend, Steve Brogan will be concentrating on his HM Plant CBR600RR, as he tries to claw back the points deficit to Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport series leader Glen Richards.

In the Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport series Steve took a battling sixth at the super-fast Snetterton circuit to hang on to second in the series. In the Bennetts British Superbike championship HM Plant Honda riders Leon Haslam and Cal Crutchlow had a tough day. HM Plant Honda Hopes for Success at High-Speed Snetterton
12 June 2008
HM Plant Honda heads to Snetterton in Norfolk this weekend as the Bennetts British Superbike Championship meets for round five of the 12-round season. The flat, former airfield circuit offers high-speed action thanks to the long Revett Straight as well as some challenging corners. Both HM Plant Honda Superbike riders have been off to Japan in the break to test for their forthcoming race at the Suzuka Eight-Hour, as well as taking part in last weekend’s Suzuka 300km race. Meanwhile Steve Brogan has been training hard in the gym so he’s in the best physical shape for the weekend. In the Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport Championship, Steve intends to close the gap on series leader Glen Richards, while continuing to dominate in the Metzeler National Superstock 1000 series.

More Points & Podiums for HM Plant Honda at Donington
27 May 2008
Leon Haslam took two strong second positions during today’s blustery Bennetts British Superbike races at Donington Park. In the first race, Haslam suffered a bad start but fought back to finish behind winner Shane Byrne, while in the second the Derbyshire rider led for almost 18 of the 20 laps but Byrne made a pass on the HM Plant Honda rider going into the Melbourne hairpin and pulled away to take his second win of the day. Haslam’s team-mate Cal Crutchlow took a disappointing sixth in race one after suffering from a lack of grip towards the end of the race. Cal made amends with a fighting third place in the second outing.

HM Plant Honda Ready for Tonight’s first North West 200 Outing!
13 May 2008
HM Plant Honda teamsters John McGuinness and Steve Brogan will line up this evening for the first practice for Saturday’s Kennedy International North West 200. The North West 200 circuit runs between the towns of Portrush, Portstewart and Coleraine in Northern Ireland and has a history stretching back to 1929. Roads master McGuinness is a previous winner in the Superbike class at the event, while Brogan is a relative newcomer to the famous race. John will be riding in the Superbike class aboard the awesome new 2008 Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade, based closely on the machines used in the Bennetts British Superbike championship. The major differences include the use of Dunlop instead of Pirelli tyres, more power thanks to different regulations, while the suspension will be set-up softer for the harsher conditions found on the nine-mile ‘Triangle’ circuit.

Brands Beckons for HM Plant Honda
09 May 2008
The HM Plant Honda team return to Brands Hatch this weekend for the re-scheduled opening round of the Bennetts British Superbike season. Superbike riders Cal Crutchlow and Leon Haslam should experience better weather than the snow, which forced the cancellation of the opening round and both will be hoping for better luck at the glorious 2.3-mile GP circuit than they experienced in the previous round at Oulton Park. Cal has been declared fit for the race after dislocating his right ankle in his race two fall, while Leon hopes to put more points on the board after being excluded from the race two results. Meanwhile, Steve Brogan will be out to make it three wins from three starts in the Metzeler National Superstock race, and return to the podium in the Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport Championship.

Leon suffered a high-side early in the qualifying session, but despite feeling a little second-hand, the 24-year-old from Derbyshire took the final spot on the front-row for tomorrow’s two 18-lap Bennetts British Superbike races.

Steve Brogan will be hoping for a repeat of his double from the Hampshire track, where he won both the Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport race and the Metzeler National Superstock 1000 event, making him the series leader in both classes.

2008 HM Plant Honda Team Unveiling Heralds A ‘New Era’
21 March 2008
2008 marks the start of a new era for the all-conquering HM Plant Honda team in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship. At a ceremony at the Sports Café in Newcastle yesterday, the 2008 team was unveiled, a team that hopes to take a clean sweep of the major British road-racing championships. All of this adds even more spice and excitement to the championship, which this year will be held over 12 rounds between April and October. Running alongside the championship will be the Supersport and Superstock series in which Steve Brogan will be aiming for success in both classes.
