Brits Winner Gets Top Marks For Protection

Best British Female Artist Lily Allen gave her performance surrounded by Davida helmets at the 30th Brit Awards at Earls Court, London. Singing her Number 1 hit 'The Fear', Lily chose not to compromise on top-quality head protection for her male backing dancers, equipping each of them with a Davida Jet helmet painted pink.

Kawasaki Dealers Win Top Motorcycle Awards

Presented to Lloyd Cooper Motorcycles and George White Superbike Centres, the awards highlighted the outstanding success and overall achievement of both dealerships in their respective categories.

Relentless Suzuki Wins Top Team Award

Relentless by TAS Suzuki crowned a successful 2008 season at last weekend's Irish Racer Motorcycle Awards, lifting the highly-acclaimed Team of the Year award for the fifth time in six years. For his double TT success in Superbike and Superstock, his second place in the Senior TT and two podiums at the North West 200, Australian Cameron Donald added to the team's haul of silverware on the night, taking the International Road Racer of the Year award. Ian Lowry also capped a successful 2008 British Supersport campaign, finishing runner-up in the Short Circuit Rider of the Year category to World Superbike star Jonathan Rea.

Bike It Scoops Industry Awards

Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade Scoops Yet More Awards

Honda’s all-conquering CBR1000RR Fireblade has won the Motor Cycle News award for Best Sportsbike over 601cc. At a star-studded Motor Cycle News Awards ceremony last night, Honda was presented with the award, which recognises the Fireblade as the machine of the year in the fiercely fought litre supersports class. There to pick up the award from comedian Alan Davies and MCN editor Marc Potter was Steve Martindale, General Manager of Honda (UK) Motorcycles.

Crescent Wins Prestigious Award

Crescent Motorcycle Company Ltd was awarded the coveted Suzuki National Dealer of the Year title at Suzuki’s recent dealer conference, to add another accolade to the Dorset-based company’s already impressive resume. With three solus Suzuki outlets situated in Verwood, Bournemouth and Southampton, Crescent also scooped the Suzuki south-west region dealer of year for 2008, to go alongside the prestigious national title. Both titles were presented at the Suzuki Dealer Conference that was held in Birmingham recently, with Crescent’s Director Martyn James on hand to collect the awards. Martyn was presented with the trophies to mark the achievements by Yasuharu Suzuki, Managing Director of Suzuki Motorcycles GB plc and David Taylor, Sales and Marketing Director for the motorcycle division.

BMW Riding High After Success at Motor Cycle News Awards

It was another successful evening for BMW Motorrad UK at this year’s Motor Cycle News (MCN) Awards, as Europe’s largest and most successful motorcycle manufacturer scooped a brace of honours. The BMW F 800 GS won Best Trailie Bike of the Year while the marque also received a ‘Special Commendation’ in the Accessories category for its Lowered Suspension Option, available on almost a third of its motorcycle range.

Ducati Coventry Takes Top Dealer Award

Over 1000 delegates from Ducati dealerships all over the world were present at the 2 day Conference prior to the Eicma Milan Show. Amongst the highlights were the unveiling of three new models, the Monster 696, 848 and 1098R and the appearance of World MotoGP Champion Casey Stoner and former World Superbike Champion Troy Bayliss.

Run annually to find the best technician and aftersales advisors within the Suzuki dealer network, the final competition saw Stephen Hauxwell of Bill Smith Motors emerge as ‘2007 Technician of the Year’ and Sallyanne Blackwell of Wylie & Holland taking the ‘Aftersales Advisors’ award.
