Team Makita Suzuki Racing’s Ivan Tedesco finished the third Anaheim Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross at Angel Stadium in California with a solid top-10 finish. Team mate Ricky Carmichael did not race due to his abbreviated schedule; the 2006 AMA Supercross and Motocross Champion will return to Supercross at the Atlanta round later this month.

Monster Energy Kawasaki’s James Stewart has the opportunity this Saturday, Feb. 3 to become the first rider in history to sweep all three AMA Supercross rounds in Anaheim’s Angel Stadium in a single season.

Three Riders Penalized For Illegal Fuel At Anaheim 2 Supercross

AMA Racing has announced that riders Joshua Hill, Jason Thomas and Nick Wey have been penalized for using illegal fuel at round three of the Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross Series at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, Calif., on Jan. 20. Fuel samples from nine motorcycles were collected at the Anaheim 2 round and the samples from the motorcycles of Hill, Thomas and Wey were found to be in non-compliance. Fuel from the motorcycles of Steve Boniface, Michael Byrne, Kyle Partridge, Chad Reed, James Stewart and Jake Weimer was found to be in compliance.

Kawasaki Riders Looking To Stay Hot Coming Into Anaheim II

It’s been a dream season so far for Kawasaki in the early going of the 2007 Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross Series. Kawasaki rider James Stewart is atop the standings coming into Anaheim II, this Saturday, Jan. 20, at Angel Stadium thanks to wins at the first two rounds of the 16-race championship. Additionally, Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki riders are one-two-three in the AMA Supercross Lites West Series after two rounds.

Things couldn't have went any easier for the Factory KTM team at the start of the day. Both Josh Hansen and Martin Davalos were in the seeded qualifying session with some of the fastest Lites riders in the world. Josh set the fourth fastest qualifying time at 58.672 while Martin was fifth fastest with a 58.720.

Reigning Champion Ricky Carmichael raced to second place at Saturday night’s opening round of the Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross Championship at Angel Stadium, Anaheim in California despite crashing on the 12th lap. The Team Makita Suzuki rider was racing at his final Anaheim event after announcing plans to combine NASCAR racing with select Supercross and motocross events.

New Era Begins For AMP’D Mobile Supercross Series

The highly anticipated opening round of the 2007 Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross Series is coming on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007 at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, Calif. This year marks the beginning of a new era in AMA Supercross. Five-time and defending series champ Ricky Carmichael will be riding his familiar No. 4 Suzuki at the Anaheim opener, but the extremely popular rider from Tallahassee, Fla., has announced that he will only race a limited schedule this year. That opens the door for other riders in the series and means a new champion will likely be crowned in 2007.

Double Podium For Suzuki At Anaheim

Suzuki’s RMZ450 raced to its first double podium at Saturday night’s AMA Supercross fifth round at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California as reigning champion Ricky Carmichael grabbed a 10-second win and team-mate Ivan Tedesco his first 250 Main Event rostrum. With the victory, Carmichael moved into the lead of the World Supercross series ahead of James Stewart, who crashed three times during the 20-lap event and extended his advantage in the Amp’d AMA Supercross series over Chad Reed.
