Suzuki Sweeps Atlanta Sunday Race

Rockstar Makita Suzuki Factory Racing completely dominated the AMA Superbike Championship weekend at Road Atlanta, following up Saturday's Suzuki clean-sweep with another such victory on Sunday afternoon in Braselton, Georgia. The all-Rockstar Makita Suzuki podium saw two-time and defending AMA Superbike Champion Ben Spies in the top spot with six-time AMA Superbike Champion Mat Mladin in second position and team mate Tommy Hayden in third.

Mladin Takes 70TH AMA Superbike Win

Rockstar Makita Suzuki Factory Racing's Mat Mladin, Ben Spies and Tommy Hayden replicated their impressive results from Saturday's AMA Superbike race in Sunday's final event at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio. Six-time AMA Superbike Champion Mladin won again and in doing so celebrated his 70th career AMA Superbike victory and his seventh win this year. Defending two-time AMA Superbike Champion Ben Spies started from pole position and again followed Mladin home in second place while Rockstar Makita Suzuki team mate Tommy Hayden again brought home fifth.

Mladin Wins at Ohio AMA Superbikes

Rockstar Makita Suzuki Factory Racing celebrated its 40th AMA Superbike win in a row at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio, on Saturday as six-time AMA Superbike Champion Mat Mladin took the win. Mladin overcame a get-off and three red flags to take this victory, which marks the Australian's 69th career AMA Superbike victory and his sixth win of the season. Defending and two-time AMA Superbike Champion Ben Spies was recovering from a recent appendectomy but still started from pole position and followed Mladin home in second place as Tommy Hayden brought home an impressive fifth-place result.

2008 AMA SBK Parts Unlimited & Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix

The AMA Superbike Championship presented by Parts Unlimited will contest the first of two rounds to be held this season at the famed Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca circuit in Monterey, Calif. The July stop has also become an annual meeting with the superstars of the MotoGP World Championship, widely considered the pinnacle of global motorcycle road racing. The MotoGP field boasts some of the AMA Superbike Championship's most decorated graduates, led by 2006 World Champion Nicky Hayden, a former AMA Superbike and Supersport champ. Hayden won the U.S. Grand Prix in 2005 and 2006. 1992 AMA 250GP champion Colin Edwards is another top MotoGP competitor with an AMA Superbike pedigree. The Texan has been performing impressively this season, regularly finishing in the top five and occasionally landing on the podium. Unfortunately, former AMA Formula Xtreme and Superstock king John Hopkins will be unable to compete in front of his home fans at Laguna Seca, ruled out by injury.

Mladin Takes Sonoma From Spies

Yoshimura Suzuki's Mat Mladin picked up his 55th career AMA Superbike victory in the first race of the double-header AMA Superbike weekend at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California on Saturday afternoon with his team mates Ben Spies and Tommy Hayden second and seventh. "It was a good race for us," said six-time AMA Superbike Champion Mladin. "I'd like to thank my Yoshimura Suzuki crew who've worked really hard in the off-season and in testing to try and get the number-one plate back."

Spies Hopes For Victorious Superbike Replay At Barber Doubleheader

Last year Suzuki’s Ben Spies swept the AMA Superbike Championship Doubleheader at Barber Motorsports Park and never looked back. On April 20-22 the AMA Superbike Championship presented by Parts Unlimited returns to Birmingham, Ala., for the 5th annual Honda Superbike Classic, rounds two and three of the 19-race series. Spies, the defending series champ from Longview, Texas, is hoping to duplicate his sweep at Barber of a year ago.

Hodgson Battles To Third In Mid-Ohio Season Finale, Bostrom Fourth

Neil Hodgson finished off the 2006 season with a podium result at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and teammate Ben Bostrom was fourth to end the AMA Superbike season for Parts Unlimited Ducati. Hodgson ran strong in both ends of the red-flagged race, leading the event on lap 15. The Englishman challenged for the win on the Ducati 999 and in the middle portions of the race was especially strong in the "Thunder Valley" section of the track.

Spies Wins Superbike Title For Suzuki

Team Yoshimura Suzuki’s Ben Spies clinched his first AMA Superbike title aboard his GSX-R1000 at today’s final-round at Lexington’s Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course as team mates Mat Mladin and Aaron Yates topped the rostrum. In a race that was red flagged, the young Texan finished seventh; he had to finish within the top 13 to clinch the series and record Suzuki’s fourth title in a row.

Bostrom And Hodgson Aiming For Success At Infineon Raceway

The Parts Unlimited Ducati Team returns to action this week at Infineon Raceway, located in the scenic Sonoma Valley just north of San Francisco. Neil Hodgson and Ben Bostrom will race their Ducati 999 Superbikes at the tight and twisty track known for its challenging elevation changes. The Infineon Raceway Superbike doubleheader (with races on Saturday and Sunday) is near the Ducati North America headquarters in Cupertino, California.
