MotoGP - The Final Showdown

The four British Grand Prix stars race from Malaysia to Valencia in Spain to compete in the traditional final showdown of the MotoGP World Championship in the frenzied atmosphere of the Ricardo Tormo circuit on Sunday. The 2.489 mile tight demanding track will be packed by around 120,000 noisy fans to provide a fitting finale to the season which has turned into a year of great highs and lows for the British riders. Twenty –eight year old James Toseland completes his first season in the premier class of Motor Cycle racing, the MotoGP World Championship and his results in the last two races sum up his fortunes. Two rounds ago he finished a brilliant sixth in Australia after qualifying on the second row of the grid riding the Tech 3 Yamaha. Last week he crashed in the early stages of the race in Malaysia after qualifying 12th.

Toseland Looking for Repeat Show in Steamy Sepang

James Toseland arrives at Sepang for the Polini Grand Prix of Malaysia on Sunday determined to repeat his superb ride in the previous round of the MotoGP World Championship in Australia. The Yorkshireman celebrated his 28th birthday with a hard fought sixth place at Phillip Island riding the Tech 3 Yamaha and has been working flat on his stamina to produce a repeat performance or better in very different circumstances at the penultimate round of the Championship.

Smith's Rain Shower Wrecker

A short sharp shower of rain wrecked Bradley Smith’s chance of his first ever grand prix victory in the 125 cc race at the Dutch TT in Assen this afternoon. Seventeen year old Smith was a comfortable leader of the scheduled 22 lap ninth round of the World Championship when it started to rain on various sections of the legendary 2.830 mile circuit in North Holland. As the conditions worsened Smith, who like all other riders was using slick tyres on his Polaris World Aprilia, crashed on lap ten. The race was immediately stopped with the red flag and the race was re-run over just five laps. With grid positions determined for the new race by the finishing position of riders on the previous lap before the red flag was shown, Smith was able to start and in pole position.

Toseland Happy & Ready After First Day

James Toseland is confident he can be in the hunt for at least a podium finish after the first day of practice for the bwin.com British Grand Prix at Donington Park. The 27 year old Yorkshireman was eighth fastest after the first day of practice round the 2.5 miles Parkland circuit and less than one second behind World Champion Casey Stoner who led the way on the Marlboro Ducati.

Toseland Aims to Erase Those Le Mans Blues

James Toseland returns to the MotoGP fray at Mugello determined to erase memories of his Le Mans crash and get down to some serious points scoring. The 27 year old Yorkshireman has never raced at the legendary Italian venue but that’s nothing new this season for the Tech 3 Yamaha rider who has at least ridden round the track on a superbike but never in a race. He’s made a tremendous start to his MotoGP career and it was only his tangle with Andre Dovizioso in France that has dropped him to ninth place in the title chase after five rounds. Seventeen year old Bradley Smith arrives in Mugello full of confidence after his second place in the 125 cc race at Le Mans. It was an important result for the Polaris World Aprilia rider after he’d crashed out in Portugal and China. With four races in the next five weeks he must keep up with those podium finishes to improve on his eighth place in the Championship.

Kallio Delivers A Dash Of Podium Orange To KTM's "Home GP" In Brno

Red Bull KTM factory rider Mika Kallio gave the Austrian manufacturer and the entire "Orange" family reason to celebrate on Sunday in the 250cc Grand Prix of Czech Republic when he rocketed to third place in the closing stages of the race. The Finn's third place gave the KTM family and fans a taste of the invigorating flavor of orange in the best possible way. The atmosphere was enhanced by a record attendance of more than 141,500 spectators on race day and a massive 245,000 for the entire weekend at the traditional Czech racing circuit.
