Calafat Test a Success For Airwaves Ducati

Airwaves Ducati today completed their second successful test of 2008. The 2.02 mile Calafat circuit presented some difficult conditions for the riders but both were pleased with their performance throughout the 4 day test.

Bookings are at an all time high for 2008 with schools sold out for April and early May. There are some Level 1 spaces available on the 27th/28th May, although if you are looking for Level 2, 3 & 4, the earliest date possible is 10th June.

Airwaves Ducati Prepare For Second Test

Airwaves Ducati will head to Calafat in Spain this weekend for their second test of 2008. Having completed a very successful 3 day test in Almeria last week the team are keen to get back to work at the 2.02 mile Catalonian circuit, where they will be testing from Monday 10th until Thursday 13th March.

MSS Discovery Kawasaki Enjoy Fruitful First Day of Testing at Almeria

MSS Discovery Kawasaki has begun their winter test schedule with a positive start on the first day of a three-day test at the Spanish circuit of Almeria. The test is a shakedown of the new-for-2008 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10Rs that riders Stuart Easton and Billy McConnell will campaign in this year’s 12-round series. The team will stay at Almeria for a further two days, before having a day off prior to further testing at the Guadix circuit.

Airwaves Ducati Start Testing

Airwaves Ducati will commence their 2008 testing schedule with a 3 day test at Almeria, starting on Monday 25th February. Before the new season gets underway at Brands Hatch on April 6th, the Airwaves Ducati team are due to test at Calafat and the official BSB test at Snetterton on 22nd – 24th March. However, the 4km long Almeria circuit in southern Spain will be the first outing for the Airwaves Ducati team on the new Ducati 1098R’s.

HANNspree Ten Kate Honda Satisfied After First Superbike Test

The HANNspree Ten Kate Honda team has left Spain with an optimistic feeling after it finalised a successful three-day development test on the new CBR1000RR Superbike. The three men strong squad, each of them newcomers to the 2008 Superbike Championship, were able to demonstrate continuous improvements for the duration of the last test ahead of the series kick-off at Qatar on 23 February.

With a sellout on all the 2007 dates, we launched this year's schedule at the NEC show back in November. The stand was the largest in the schools history with seminars being run from a stage area, it certainly attracted the crowds! Bookings are brisk with new customers and students returning for upper levels. Rizla Suzuki Firmly In The Ballpark

Rizla Suzuki’s Chris Walker and Cal Crutchlow both slashed more than a second from their lap times during the final day of testing at Almeria in Southern Spain, as they mixed it with the other main British Superbike contenders. Changes to the rear link and Ohlins shock allowed Stalker and Cal to make big improvements on the final of three days at the 4.3km-long twisty and fast circuit. As the previous days, the weather was warm and sunny, ideal for testing.

The Airwaves Ducati team have finished a successful test in Almeria, Spain with both riders posting consistent times throughout the three day test. With an air temperature of 24 degrees and a track temperature of 37 degrees the 4km circuit saw 383 laps completed by the Airwaves Ducati riders, 181 by Gregorio Lavilla and 202 by Leon Haslam.

Rea Fastest In Intensive Three Day Superbike Test At Almeria

Jonathan Rea continued his impressive form aboard the HM Plant Honda throughout the hard-working three day test at the Spanish circuit of Almeria where he rounded off his determined performance with a best lap time of 1m 35.20secs. The 20 year old Ulsterman underlined his credentials to challenge for the Bennetts British Superbike crown as he outpaced riders, including his team-mate and reigning champion Ryuichi Kiyonari, from several of the leading teams.

Haslam warms up in Almeria, Spain

The sun was shining again for the Airwaves Ducati team’s third test in Almeria, Spain. With an average air temperature of 23º C and a track temperature of 30º Leon Haslam improved on his previous fastest lap of the Almeria circuit by 0.8 seconds whilst Gregorio Lavilla reduced his best by 0.5 seconds.

First test for Shakey as Suzuki’s '06 preparations begin

Any thoughts of an early start to the festive season for Rizla Suzuki are on hold as new signing Shane ‘Shakey’ Byrne travels to Almeria in Spain for the team’s initial winter test on December 19th-20th, as his preparations for the 2006 season commence. The 29-year-old former British Champion is eager to climb aboard his new Superbike. “This pre-season test shows just how serious Rizla Suzuki and I are about challenging for the British Superbike Championship next year,” he said. “I have not ridden the GSX-R1000 before so this will allow me to get acquainted with it and find a good direction for future tests and races. I can't wait to get riding, it's going to be mega. “I only hope the weather isn’t the typical Christmas scene with snow and ice…”

'Shakey' Happy With Suzuki Tests

Shane ‘Shakey’ Byrne says his first test session on the Rizla Suzuki GSX-R1000 Superbike at Almeria in Southern Spain this week was a success. The former British Superbike Champion spent the last two-days learning about his new Rizla Suzuki bike and team. He said: “The test has been blinding – absolutely mega. I am really happy with the progress we made and only wish I was staying on for more riding.”

Christmas comes early for Shakey
