Extreme Weather Causes LB Downtime
24 July 2007
Incase you were wondering, for 24 hours yesterday, LB was down. This was due to our hosts being struck by some of the worst weather storms this country has seen in many years. Based in Gloucester, the area given live coverage on the BBC News service last night, the centre where our servers run from was assaulted by floods. The centre wasn't flooded, but for whatever reason, service could not be fulfiled and LB went offline for nearly a day. This hasn't happened before, and unfortunately our track-record of exemplorary up-time was compromised.
