SERT Extends Endurance Lead

Defending World Endurance Champions Suzuki Endurance Racing Team have extended their lead in the 2008 championship by taking victory at the 6 Horas Nocturnas de Albacete in Spain. Vincent Philippe, Julien Da Costa and Guillaume Dietrich race their GSX-R1000 to a two-lap victory ahead of Spanish privateers Josep Sarda, Kenny Noyes and Bernat Martinez of the Suzuki Catala team and Bolliger Switzerland's David Morillon, Patric Muff and Horst Saiger.

A relentless six-hour battle took place in today’s race, the second stage of the QMMF Endurance FIM World Championship at Albacete in Spain, which was fought out head to head by Kawasaki Motor France and the Suzuki Endurance Racing Team without a single moment of respite. At the chequered flag the Kawasaki machine of Steve Plater, Julian Mazuecos and Gwen Giabbani ended winning with one lap ahead of the Suzuki ridden by Vincent Philippe, Matthieu Lagrive and Julien Da Costa.

Suzuki Lead The Grid Ahead Of Kawasaki's In Albacete 6hr Night-Time

Suzuki Endurance Racing Team finished the second qualifying round of QMMF Endurance FIM World Championship at Albacete in first place on the grid. Vincent Philippe once again recorded the best time this morning in 1’31.268 and with the support of quick lap-times recorded by his team-mates, Matthieu Lagrive and Julian Da Costa, secured Suzuki’s advantage on the grid line-up at the Albacete 6hr Night-time Endurance. The line-up at the top of the grid is extremely close, making Suzuki’s pole-position more of a psychological boost than a physical advantage.

Kawasaki QERT Take The Lead In Albacete 6hr Night-Time

The Qatar Endurance Racing Team came away from the first qualifying round of the QMMF Endurance FIM World Championship at Albacete, with the advantage. The average of the rider’s best times will determine the grid line-up on completion of the second qualifying rounds which take place tomorrow. Looking strong on the Spanish track, Jose Luis Cardoso and Ivan Silva leave, unofficially, Kawasaki QERT leading the first qualifying round.

SERT Dominate Free Tests In Albacete 6hr Endurance

The race favourites took to the Albacete circuit in Spain on Friday morning for free testing in advance of the second round of the QMMF Endurance FIM World Championship. In spite of in spite of low temperature track conditions, the Suzuki Endurance Racing Team achieved the fastest lap-time courtesy of Vincent Philippe who recorded a time of 1’32.980, the only lap-time to come in under 1’33.

Suzuki Set For Albacete 6 Hours

Defending World Endurance Champions SERT are looking to take control of this year's series at this weekend's second round in Spain following their second place at the opening round at Le Mans in France. GSX-R1000-mounted Vincent Philippe, Matthieu Lagrive and Julien Da Costa head a field of 42 teams - 20 permanent series competitors and 22 others - for the Albacete 6 Hours which starts at 18.00hrs on Saturday.

Stage Set For An Exceptional Race At Albacete 6hr

The ‘Albacete 6 hour Night-time Endurance’, the second huge test of the QMMF Endurance FIM World Championship, is fast approaching. On Saturday 5th May, from 18:00 until 00:00, twenty-eight teams will take to the 3.5km long Spanish track. Among the favourites is the Suzuki Endurance Racing Team, the double-victors from the ‘Le Mans 24 Hours’ last weekend. The first and second-placed GSX-R from Le Mans, is six points ahead of the ZX-10R of Team Kawasaki Motor France, who finished third at the famous 24 Hour race. The duel between the official Suzuki and Kawasaki is sure to provide huge entertainment for the crowds at Albacete.

Albacete 6hr Night-time In Spain Soon

The second leg of the QMMF Endurance FIM World Championship 2007, the Albacete 6 Hr Night-time endurance race will take place on Saturday 5th May from 18.00 00.00hrs. Thirty eight teams will fight it out on the Spanish circuit, situated 160km to the west of Valencia, the only fully lit circuit outside of Japan.

Airwaves Fastet In Penultimate Test

Leon Haslam made good use of his qualifying tyres to top the leaderboard at the end of a hectic three day test at Albacete, but his Spanish team-mate, Gregorio Lavilla was only a split second down, and was the faster of the two using race tyres on his Airwaves Ducati. In common with the other teams bidding for honours in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship, they have one remaining test session, at Snetterton this coming weekend, to ensure that their machines are finely tuned for the seasonal opener at Brands Hatch on Easter Monday, 9 April.

Excellent Test For Airwaves Ducati In Albacete

Airwaves Ducati have completed their winter testing abroad with outstanding results in Albacete, Spain. Gregorio Lavilla recorded a time of 1:30.12 on a race tyre whilst team mate Leon Haslam lapped in a time of 1:30.62. The team had scheduled a 3 day test at the 3.539 km circuit but Greg finished his testing plan in 2 days. Over the 603 km’s he completed during the test he recorded a race simulation time 4.6 seconds faster than last year which was outstanding.

Rizla Suzuki Men On The Pace In Spain

Rizla Suzuki completed its penultimate pre-season outing at the Albacete circuit in Spain with Chris Walker heading today's time sheets and Cal Crutchlow close behind in third place - good enough for third and fourth places over all three days of the test. Stalker spent much of the day working on his Ohlins forks and clutch settings. In the last session after completing his test programme, he tried a Dunlop qualifying tyre and set a blistering pace of 1:30.070 to record the fastest time on the day and third overall.

Rizla Suzuki rolls ahead with its extensive British Superbike pre-season test programme at the Spanish circuit of Albacete later this week. The 3.53km circuit hosts an official Dunlop British Superbike test from Friday 16th – Sunday 18th March, with most of the main protagonists for the 2007 title attending. Chris Walker and Cal Crutchlow are keen to maintain the fast development progress achieved at the previous five team tests.

Suzuki Castrol has won the Albacete 8 Horas Nocturnas round of the FIM World Endurance Championship and increased its series lead to 39 points after three rounds. GSX-R1000-mounted Keiichi Kitagawa, Matthieu Lagrive and Vincent Philippe ran a consistent race which was incident packed from the start.
