Yamaha will unveil the latest radical incarnations of two iconic machines at this years Carole Nash International Motorcycle and Scooter Show, held this year from 28th November to 7th December. The new YZF-R1 features amazing new technology developed by Valentino Rossis Moto GP squad, whilst the legendary VMAX makes a welcome return with massive torque and power.

The new YZF-R1 engine has been developed directly from the Moto GP bikes of Valentino Rossi, Jorge Lorenzo and James Toseland, with a unique crossplane crankshaft utilising an uneven firing order, which effectively creates smooth torquey power a very distinctive engine note. The machine also features an engine mapping system which consists of three modes, which the rider can operate from a handlebar switch. Standard mode is mapped to give optimum all-round performance, while the A mode delivers sharper engine response and the B mode gives a gentler response to the riders throttle inputs. Other innovations include a gear selection indicator, speed sensitive steering damper and adjustable footrests. The whole bike has been subjected to a major makeover with the technology wrapped in a new set of bodywork.

The VMAX makes its long awaited return and the Yamaha designers have managed to capture the brutal power and presence of the original machine. Boasting a 1,679cc V4 engine kicking out 200bhp and 123 ft/lb of torque, the VMAX backs up its ultra-aggressive looks with a world beating power delivery.

Yamaha will be showing off its impressive range of race bikes at the show, flown in especially for the occasion. Top of the bill will be the factory M1 Moto GP machines of Valentino Rossi and the version ridden by British legend James Toseland. The World Superbike YZF-R1 of Noriyuki Haga will be joined by machinery from British Superbikes, the Isle of Man TT, World Motocross and other exotic machinery.

Yamaha will be displaying a massive range of clothing and accessories at the show with goodies for riders and race-fans alike.
