Tanel Leok scored a sensational win in the final round of the Belgian National Championship while Manuel Priem secured second in the final series standings.

Kawasaki Racing Team’s Tanel Leok rode superbly to put in 5-1-1 results in the final round of the United Telecom Trophy to ensure he took the overall win on the day in front of 7,000 excited race fans. Powering his factory KX450F-SR around the technical Pierreux circuit Tanel beat off a strong international field of GP runners including Ken De Dycker, Steve Ramon, Josh Coppins, Max Nagl, Tyla Rattray and of course his KRT teammate Manuel Priem.

“Things went really well for me today,” said Tanel. “It’s always nice if you finish the season with a win and today I was close to being perfect – only my start in the first heat was not so good which meant I could only pull back to fifth.

"It’s a good end to a tough season though and now only the Motocross of Nations is left. I’m really looking forward to that race and I hope to be able to battle with the front guys – it’s always a fun race and representing Estonia is good also.”

Priem entered the Pierreux race in third place in the series locked in battle with Ramon and De Dycker. Scrapping hard all day Manuel’s results of 4-6-3 saw the popular Belgian star steal second in the series from under the nose of De Dycker who suffered a technical problem in moto three.

“I’m happy with my racing here,” said Manuel. “My back wasn't too painful and I could attack for most of the time. Overall I’m pleased with my riding in the Belgian Nationals this season. I came second again and I confirmed that last year’s result was not a fluke. I had some really strong races in this series even though the level was really high. It's been an enjoyable championship and we've visited a couple of awesome tracks – especially this one today!”
