HUSQVARNA TAKES DOUBLE PODIUM AT ANDORRA SUPERMOTO GP

A great achievement for Husqvarna CH Racing team who, last weekend, took part in the 6th round of 2008 Supermoto World Championship held in Andorra. The two Chareyre brothers, Thomas and Adrien, rode outstandingly well to win the S1 and S2 classes respectively.

?In S1 class first heat, Thomas made a superfast start that gave him the holeshot and he maintained his lead to the finish where he crossed the line 6 seconds ahead of Thierry Van Den Bosch and 10 seconds in front of Ivan Lazzarini. In the second race, Thomas was second at the start but in the off road section passed race leader Bern Hiemer and stayed in front of the chasing pack to finish again on the top step of the podium.

?In S2, older brother Adrien Chareyre had a tough first hea t race with TM rider Davide Gozzini who passed the French rider with a rough move that pushed Adrien off the track. The Husqvarna rider recovered to finish 2nd but in race 2 took his revenge and the win with Gozzini finishing a distant second. It was also a good weekend for Belgian rider Gerald Delepine who took 3rd place in both S2 heats. S2 class provisional classification hasn’t changed and Adrien has now 6 points lead from Gozzini, while in S1 Thomas is only 3 points away from third placed Ivan Lazzarini. ?Next Supermoto GP will be held in Busca, Italy, on October 5th.

MILAN HOSTS SUPERCROSS SERIES: ANTOINE MEO SHOW AT ASSAGO FORUM

French rider Antoine Meo, who recently got back to the motocross scene with his MX2 GP ride in Faenza, took part in the first Supercross Series in Milan on Friday and Saturday evening.
?On the Friday evening, Antoine was in good shape and ready to compete on his CR 144. In race 1 Antoine made a good start and after passing American rider Osborne, led the race. Unfortunately, after a few minutes at the front of the field, Antoine crashed badly out o f the track in the whoops section.

Antoine did not get heavily injured but suffered a terrible headache.
?Despite the headache remaining, Antoine decided to start race 2 but after a few laps, the rider was forced to withdraw because of the pain. Saturday Meo was back in Milan to race, as he felt much better. In race 1 Antoine finished in third place, looking extremely comfortable on the 2009 CR and, thanks to a great start repeated his 3rd place finish in race 2.

?The two 3rd place finishes gave the French Husqvarna rider access to the Main Event of the evening, but unfortunately, a less than perfect start meant he didn’t reach the top of the classification.
?Meo won’t be present at the second Supercross Series round as he will be in Mende, France, for the final WEC GP, but will be back on October 17th to participate in the Marseille race.

GUILLAUME WINS IN THE FRENCH ENDURO CHAMPIONSHIP

The penultimate round of the French Enduro Championship was held in Brioude recently. Seb Guillaume shone as he took 1st and 2nd place over the two days on his WR 300. Guillaume was in perfect shape and the race helped him prepare for the next WEC GP to be held next weekend in Terni, Italy. Marc Bourgeois, who made his comeback in the Brioude races after injury, took 4th place on both days. Marc (who celebrates today his birthday) is now anxious to return to the World Championship scene to defend his position in the Enduro Junior class.

HUSQVARNA AND SI WAKELY CLAIM FINAL 2008 BEC PODIUM

Husky Sport backed MPS Racing Husqvarna team rider Si Wakely is the '08 E2 British Enduro Champion. Coming into the final round of this year's BEC series trailing Paul Edmondson by six points, Si did exactly what he needed to do to overhaul the former four-time world champion and topped both days to win the championship in style. It was consistency that ensured Wakely claimed the win on day one.

Despite being eight seconds off the pace of Greg Evans on the first test Si dramatically increased his pace on the second and third tests before winning the fifth test as Evans' hopes of victory faltered. Despite narrowly missing out on topping the sixth and final test on day one Si did enough to finish five seconds ahead of Paul Edmondson. On day two it was a simply case of whichever rider finished highest, out of Wakely and Edmondson, would win the E2 British championship. Getting off to a flying start and topping the day' s first test outright Si little by little edged away from Edmondson following winning rides on second and fourth tests.

Arriving at the fifth and final test with a slender advantage Si claimed yet another test win to secure the '08 E2 British Enduro Championship title. Si and the MPS Racing Husqvarna Team now head to Italy for the seventh round of the World Enduro Championship, which takes place next weekend near Rome. Remaining in mainland Europe they will then take in a round of the WSB championship before competing in the final WEC event of '08, which is to be held in France, before heading to Holland for an event before heading home.
