With a major new British ACU title and champion on the horizon it is hardly surprising that a record number of British MX teams and riders are lining up to compete in this year's British Supercross Championship which kicks of at Sheffield Arena on the 25th of October.

Teams already committed to the series include:

Dixon UTAG Yamaha, PAR Honda, Relentless Suzuki, CCM GB, Suso MVR-D Suzuki, Twisted/Moto/Animal Kawasaki, Red Bull KTM, DB Racing

In addition to the top British teams, teams from North America have also committed by supporting their riders in competing at rounds of the British Supercross Championship. The US Privateer support team Wonder Warthog Racing has committed to appear at Sheffield looking after Heath Voss, Jeff Alessi and young rider Kevin Rookstool. Canada's top two motocross teams have also committed support for their riders with Blackfoot Toyota Yamaha supporting Colton Facciotti and OTSFF Suzuki supporting its top Canadian rider Tyler Medaglia.

"It's all coming together, the long term exclusive agreement with the ACU, the introduction of the new British only pro class and the participation of the major British teams and riders is a huge step forward for us. Add in the exceptional list of quality foreign riders to the SX 1 and SX 2 classes and it all points to one of the best British Supercross seasons ever!" says Future West's Jamie Hellam.

Cobra Motorcycle's UK and US are also throwing support behind the British Supercross Championship riders by supporting Future West's youth programme. Cobra has stepped up to support the stars of the future by supplying a 65cc Factory Cobra ride for 2009 to the winner of the British Supercross Championship in the 50cc Auto class.
