Poor and varying weather conditions made the 10th round of the World Supersport Championship very difficult at the Donington Park circuit for all the riders including Graeme Gowland who was returning to the British circuit where his love of road racing began, at a Ron Haslam Race School just three years ago.

The first two days saw wet conditions and Gowla qualified in 31st for the 22 lap race. However the weather improved for race day and the race would be held on a dry circuit which was an unknown for Gowla and the rest of the field as they had not had any previous dry track time.

The lights went out to signal the start of the race and in that all important first lap Gowla made progress up to 25th. Gowla fought his way passed the rider in front but he had lost ground on the group ahead and for the remainder of the race he chased them down before passing the chequered flag in 20th position.

Graeme Gowland:

“It has been a hard weekend. The race was difficult because I haven’t been here since the R6 Cp two years ago and also we had no dry set up so considering this I am happy with my lap times and my result from 31st on the grid. I am really looking forward to Vallelunga in a fortnight’s time because we did the official test there in the summer which went well.”
