The weekend of the Grand Prix of San Marino and Riviera di Rimini ended with second place for Yuki Takahashi after a race full of action and emotion. The JiR Team Scot rider was fast from the first-row and took command immediately, before falling back, holding on to the lead group as he waited to make his move. Then, with two riders clashing and running wide Yuki was able to move into second place, which he held to the flag: his second podium of the season. This result sees him move up a position in the championship to seventh overall.

Cirano Mularoni - Team Manager, Team Scot JiR

"This race result was the crowning of a great weekend in which Yuki and the Team have worked consistently at a high level. A perfect start and excellent management of the race without any flaws made it possible for him to collect the second podium of the season for the team. We have earned a position in the league standings and must continue to do so, striving to improve further and make more progress. I am sure the team and Yuki have the potential to obtain other superb results before the end of the season.”

"I'm happy for this podium for many reasons, because I feel this is my home race and I have so many fans here. Many of my mechanics and Team live near the circuit and deserve this result. I knew from Friday that we could make a good race but it was going to be really difficult. After the start I knew that I could not leave the others and I didn’t want to be involved in a big fight for the podium as I could have taken some unecessary risks. I was helped by incidents and crashes, but I wanted to wait until the end of the race anyway to push at the very maximum.”

Gianni Berti - Technical Coordinator, JiR Team Scot

"Technically, the team has done an excellent job, preparing the bike of Yuki in the best way. Yuki was sensible by not getting involved in the fighting in the early laps, but instead was able to exploit the talents of his Honda when he could. This podium rewards us all for the effort we have put in all season. Now we must continue to keep on this level."
