The DeGraaf Grand Prix Team caught during the GP Cinzano di San Marino e Riviera di Rimini two points. Danny Webb realised an 14th position after a bad start and brought him another two points. Hugo van den Berg got off a very good start and finisht on a 24th position. American Stevie Bonsey had again nog luck in the race. After a good start Bonsey had to give up in lap three after his computer broke down.

Danny Webb had a bad start and also had to brake hard in turn two because a couple of riders crashed. After the first lap we Webb was on position 30. Webb put his head down and chased the field and end up on a nice 14th position. With this position the British rider scored two points for the championship and has a total of 28 points for this moment.

Hugo van den Berg had a brilliant start and went from the 39 position to a 28 position in the first lap. Van den Berg tried to catch up with a big group in front of him but he couldn’t realise the conection. Van den Berg ended up on a good 24th position.

The race for Stevie Bonsey was short. In lap three the computer broke down and 500 metres before the pit lane the bike stopped. Bonsey had a good start and managed to get the connection with the group which was fighting for the 4th till the 9th position.

Danny Webb (14th):

“The race was good for me, the position isn’t so good. I got court up in a first lap crash again. I stayed on but had more of less to stop because if I didn’t I would have ran another rider over. So by this time I was a long way behind the others. I pushed hard and made my way up. I got up to the 14th and stayed there. I am happy with the race. The first lap and the first two days weren’t good and at the end I have some points so now we can go full gas for the rest of the season.”

Hugo van den Berg (24th):

“My start was good. Because of a crash in front of me I could win a lot of positions. After that it was very hard for me to keep up with them. I made several mistakes what cost me time. I was faster than my qualifying time and I’m happy with that. This was the maximum I could do this weekend. I’m really looking forward to the oversea Grand Prix’ and I hope I get my form back which I had in the GP of Germany.”

Stevie Bonsey (DNF):

“Well, I guess it wasn’t my weekend again! I had a good warm-up session and was faster than my qualifying time. In the race I got off a good start and got past Gadea. I started to charge to the front but in lap three the computer broke which put me out of the race for two mechanicals in a row! But next weekend is my home GP so I’m going to push hard!”
