It was a busy weekend of race action for the Teka Suzuki WMX1 team as they took in National championship action in both Belgium and Germany. Friday's Balen International saw a display of dominance from the factory RM-Z450 mounted riders as Ken de Dycker won two motos while his team mate Steve Ramon won the other. Unfortunately crashes suffered by both riders meant that neither rider took the overall win.

De Dycker was outstanding in the deep sand of Balen as he won moto one before crashing heavily in the second races when he hit tree branches as he jumped much higher than previously. After dusting himself down and regrouping for moto three he won that too ensuring he'd finish second overall on the day and take the lead in the Belgian National Championship.

De Dycker:

"It was great to get some wins out there today, with my crash in the second race it was another matter of what could have been or should have been! In the end that's racing and I know I have only myself to blame - I misjudged a jump, overshot a bit, flew into an overhanging tree branch and crashed!"

After the first two motos which saw Steve finish first then second he was in prime position to take his third overall win at this prestigious international event which meant he'd be able to lay claim to the Sylvain Geboers Challenge Cup. Unfortunately today would not be his day after missing the start and charging hard through the pack, Ramon collided with Jonathan Barragan's fallen bike and crashed hard. Although not injured he was unable to continue to the finish.

On Sunday De Dycker travelled with the team to Gaildorf in Germany for a round of the ADAC series. With the slick hardpack conditions being in complete contrast to Friday's race and De Dycker feeling slightly sore after his crash the best he could manage was fourth overall with a 9-4 scorecard.

There's another hectic weekend of racing ahead for the Teka Suzuki WMX1 team as both riders will race at the Stefan Everts Charity event on Saturday and then the Munsterbilzen International on Sunday which should set them up nicely for the exciting finale to the MX1 World Championship that sees the final three rounds run on consecutive weekends in Ireland, Holland and Italy.
