The demanding Lincolnshire circuit of Cadwell Park will provide the next test for BSB newcomers Co-ordit Racing this weekend (23-25 August).

The 2.18 mile circuit has historically proved a firm favourite with both racers and fans over the years, who make the annual pilgrimage to the picturesque circuit. For spectators it offers the chance for close trackside proximity and the spectacle of riders literally ‘jumping’ the Mountain section. For riders, Cadwell Park is one of the most physically demanding tracks due to it’s tight, narrow and twisting characteristics that leave little room for error.

To add a little more ‘spice’ to the Bank Holiday festivities, Cadwell Park ushers in a new format for Superbike qualifying on Sunday afternoon. The Swan Combi 50 - Roll for Pole will be split into three sections, with the top 20 moving into Q2 followed by the final top ten battling it out for the pole position in the final 10 minute Q3 session.

Dean Ellison will look to make the most of his time throughout Free Practice to optimise the settings on his Co-ordit Racing Yamaha for the best opportunity to progress through each qualifying stage on Sunday. Dean faced his most difficult test of the season at Knockhill two weeks ago due to the extreme changeable weather conditions and pitlane communication problems. Dean will look for solid scoring results in both 18 lap races on Bank Holiday Monday to boost his season’s points total.

With BMW duties lined up for this weekend, Richard Cooper will be replaced by Dan Hegarty on the Co-ordit Racing R1 in the Henderson Yamaha R1 Cup. The SPR Yamaha Racing rider narrowly missed out on a podium last time out at Knockhill. With strong results at Cadwell Park over the past few years, Dan could shake up the mix at the sharp end in what will no doubt be a hotly contested 12 lap Cup race.

Co-ordit Racing backed Metzeler National Superstock 600 rider, Sam Middlemas will look to improve upon his performances over the past few rounds at the demanding circuit.

Dean Ellison:

“I haven't been to Cadwell since 2005 but it is a good old fashioned racing track that you don't forget! As always I have been doing plenty of fitness training to get prepared for this weekend but I’ve not tested since Knockhill so I am going to have to push hard in the first session.”

Pete Bradshaw – Team Owner:

“Things are not that bright at the moment. We took a real knock at Knockhill with the weather and lady luck deserting us. Hopefully we will return to the mountains with better conditions and luck.!The economic climate is starting to be felt in our industry and no more so than in the roofing trade, which Phil Bevan is in. As a result Phil has had to regrettably withdraw from the Superstock championship. Phil will be missed by the team for the effort and team spirit he gave. Richard Cooper was entered in the Castle Combe Superbike race on one of our stock R1's last weekend. With only 3 minutes of practice before having a massive high side he was unhurt but still managed to qualify 6th. The final race saw Richard battling for a podium with Barry Burrell, Victor Cox, Alistar Fagan and Tommy Bridewell. A back marker decided the race result by holding the front-runners up to allow Tommy to come from behind and take the win. Richard took a well-deserved 4th place. Richard has been asked to do some trials with BMW so will now not be able to contest the R1 Cup at Cadwell or Croft. The ride has been given to Dan Hegarty who competes in the Metzeler National Superstock championship and knows his way around the Cadwell circuit..”
