The amateur and pro-am racing department of the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA), announced today that Lancaster Harley-Davidson has come on board as a heat race sponsor for the headline class at the AMA Sports Magic Mile Shootout, promoted and organized by the Du Quoin State Fair.

Randy Texter:

"With some of the best young talent the sport has to offer, and being held during the Du Quoin State Fair, the AMA Sports Magic Mile Shootout will present some incredible racing to dirt-track fans both old and new, that it's all going down on one of dirt track's grandest stages, the Du Quoin Magic Mile, is icing on the cake."

Randy is the owner of Lancaster Harley-Davidson (lancasterhd.com).

Lancaster Harley-Davidson joins The Service Pavilion (theservicepavilion.com) as a 450cc heat race sponsor for the event.

Held in conjunction with opening night of the Du Quoin State Fair in southwest Illinois, the AMA Sports Magic Mile Shootout features a $10,000 winner-take-all, 15-lap dirt-track 450cc main event on Saturday, August 23, 2008. There also will be a Vintage Pre-1982 Twins race, paying $2,500 to win. Both classes are open to non-GNC and non-Expert licensed riders with eligible equipment.

In addition to the $10,000 main event and vintage programme, the night will feature a 450cc Last Man Out Race, sponsored by Gatewood Engineering and Race Support (gearswebsite.com). The five-lap event will pay $500 to the winner and feature five riders selected from among the 450cc class heat winners. In a last-man-out race, the last rider on each lap pulls off and the remaining riders line up for a subsequent lap. The process continues until there's one rider remaining.
