Craig Jones will be remembered by racers, teams and spectators at Sunday's eighth round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Knockhill.

The 23 year old Northwich rider died earlier this week from injuries sustained in a crash during last Sunday's round of the World Supersport Championship at Brands Hatch.

Cal Crutchlow will be racing his HM Plant Honda wearing one of Jones' helmets while Jim Moodie will ride a poignant lap of the Fife circuit aboard the Valmoto Triumph which Jones famously rode to victory in the British Supersport series four years ago.

"Like all within the BSB community we are deeply saddened at the loss of Craig following his accident last weekend," said Stuart Higgs, the Series Director of the British Superbike Championship.

"The British Championships formed a large part of Craig's career and I know he kept a keen interest on them as we did with his World Championship exploits.

"Craig will perhaps be best remembered by his two years on the distinctive yellow Valmoto Triumph and who can forget "that" race at Donington in 2004 when Craig enthralled us all by taking a spectacular win on the last day of the season on the last outing for the team and bike.

"As a tribute to Craig, at approx 11.00 on Sunday morning, the 2004 Valmoto Triumph bearing the distinctive number 18 plate will be paraded by his Scottish team mate of that year Jim Moodie.  Craig's closest friends within BSB will follow and the BSB community and fans are asked to give applause at this time.

"The 2004 British Supersport Championship final race from Donington will be shown on the "big screen" during the Pit Walk and Interval period."

What a nice thing to do. The spirit of the British racing scene never surprises me.
It'll also be good to see Jim Moodie out of retirement!

Fantastic support, yet, nothing from Carl Foggarty....... Jonesy used to race for his doomed Petronas Team but not a word from the great man. Very disappointing.

He has commented on how gutted he was through crash dot net. Foggy was flattened by all accounts.
