Mark Burkhart (Graves Motorsport Yamaha), 2008 Moto X World Champion, 2007 X-Games Supermoto Gold winner, and 2007 AMA Supermoto Champion is healing back at his home in Ohio after his series of unfortunate crashes at the X Games. He was checked out by doctors on Saturday night and was cleared with no major injuries.

Burkhart crashed in practice and aggravated an old shoulder injury on Friday. Despite being sore he still set the fastest time in qualifying. In the main event Burkhart got caught up in a crash at the start and then had trouble getting his bike started. He put on a full charge once the bike started but that was ended when he crashed on the jump coming into the stadium.

"I am glad that I am alright and will be able to compete in the upcoming New England Supermoto event this upcoming weekend. Winning another gold medal at X Games 14 was not in the cards for me. My apologies to my all the fans that came out to show their support for me, my plan was to win the race but it didn't work out this time. I will be back next year racing for the gold medal," commented Burkhart

After only one round of the XTRM/AMA Supermoto Series, Burkhart is currently leading the Supermoto class after winning a wet season opener at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, Washington.

Following the X Games, Burkhart's next XTRM/AMA Supermoto Series race will be at The New England Supermoto Classic in Hartford, Connecticut on August 9, 2008
