Adrien Chareyre consolidated his lead in the S2 Class thanks to the results gained at the 4th Supermoto World Championship GP held last weekend in Olbia, Sardinia.

The French rider, 2007 Supermoto S1 Champion, finished second overall despite a series of mistakes during the race that could have cost him his podium finish. Adrien proved to be very competitive and focused, able to recover even under pressure in difficult situations.

In Race 1, the young rider came off the track which put an end to his battle for first place. In the second heat, Adrien started in 6th place but immediately started to gain ground even though the track was very unforgiving and chances for the riders to make up places were rare. By the end, Adrien had made his way up to a hard-fought second place.

Adrien is still leading the provisional classification, 7 points ahead of Gozzini. Adrien’s team mate, Gerald Delepine, came close to a podium finish but due to some technical problems finished 4th in both heats. These results promoted Gerald to 3rd position in the provisional S2 classification.

In the S1 class, the youngest Husqvarna talent, Thomas Chareyre, had a bad start to the day on his SMR 450 not getting any higher than 8th position in heat 1. The second race was better with the young French rider grabbing 4th place at the start of the heat and holding on until the very end. Thomas is 4th overall in the provisional championship classification, with 1 point separating him from Ivan Lazzarini.
