British Stars Set to Take on the World at Brands

Brands Hatch is delighted to announce that British wildcards will be back at this year’s UK round of the HANNspree SBK Superbike World Championship on 1st/2nd/3rd August!

Rizla Suzuki's Tom Skyes, Lloyds British Jentin Yamaha's Simon Andrews and Ulster man Eugene Laverty who will be riding for Vent Axia VK Honda.

The following three riders have confirmed they’ll be taking on the best in the world at the Kent circuit next month:

Name: Tom Sykes (Rizla Suzuki)
Age: 23
Lives: Huddersfield, UK
Day Job: Competes in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship
Pedigree: 6th in 2007 BSB Championship; Rookie of the Year
      
Name: Simon Andrews (Lloyds British Jentin Yamaha)
Age: 24
Lives: Evesham, UK
Day Job: Competes in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship
Pedigree: Currently 9th in 2008 BSB Championship
 
Name: Eugene Laverty (Vent Axia VK Honda)
Age: 22
Lives: Toombebridge, Northern Ireland
Day Job: 250cc Grand Prix rider for Blusens Aprilia
Pedigree: 3rd in 2006 British Supersport Championship    

WSB at Brands Hatch is by far the biggest round on the calendar, and this will be your last chance to see the legendary Troy Bayliss on the fabulous Grand Prix circuit. As well as regular WSB heavyweights like Max Biaggi, Troy Corser, Noriyuki Haga, Yukio Kagayama and Ruben Xaus, don’t miss the return of BSB champions Ryuchi Kiyonari and Gregorio Lavilla, plus the first Brands Hatch appearance for ex-MotoGP riders Carlos Checa and Makoto Tamada.

Brands Hatch is also set for a British rout in the Supersport World Championship, with Jonathan Rea, Craig Jones and Chris ‘The Stalker’ Walker all set to battle at the front.
