On the 14th July 2008 the review of the 2008 Isle of Man TT is released on a special two-disc DVD set. There is no challenge on Earth like the Isle of Man TT, the world-famous 37¾-mile circuit attracting the best road racers and biggest motorcycle manufacturers.

With speeds approaching 200mph, the riders are just inches from walls and hedges as they flash along roads normally used by Manx residents for their everyday business. Through towns, villages, glens and spectacular mountain scenery the dramatic racing unfolds in a two-week festival of speed.

In 2008, the TT blasted into its second century with some of the greatest racing the Isle of Man has ever seen. Now you can experience this exceptional event in the action-packed, two-disc DVD review.

This review brings you every vital moment from all nine races, with aerial footage, on-board cameras, kerbcams, interviews, on-screen graphics and more, delivering the ultimate look back at some of the closest and fastest racing you will see anywhere.

The entry list read like a who’s who of road racing and British short circuit stars, including 13-times TT winner John McGuinness, Bruce Anstey, Guy Martin, Steve Plater, Ian Hutchinson, Ryan Farquhar, Keith Amor and newcomers Jamie Robinson and James Hiller.

Proving the TT is the ultimate challenge, the sidecar races attracted reigning and three-times World Champion Tim Reeves to compete against fellow World Champion Klaus Klaffenbock and multiple TT winners Dave Molyneux and Nick Crowe.

From the outset the formbook was turned on its head, with pre-race favourites struggling reliability problems and the stunning Cameron Donald, returning from injury, determined to make his name.

The Australian did it in style, guiding the Relentless Suzuki by TAS machinery to a dramatic victory in the Dainese Superbike TT, his first TT win, then taking another remarkable triumph in the Scottish Life International Superstock TT.

The opening Relentless Supersport Junior TT race was rocked by controversy when, after an incredible performance, Kiwi Bruce Anstey was stripped of victory. AIM Yamaha’s Steve Plater was the beneficiary, taking a well-deserved maiden TT win.

However, Anstey had the perfect answer in the second Relentless Supersport Junior TT when he roared to a defiant victory, smashing the lap record on the way.

The eagerly anticipated Dainese Senior TT proved to be one of the greatest races the Isle of Man has seen for more than 15 years. This was the ultimate showdown between the current King of the Mountain John McGuinness and Donald, and the pair served up six unpredictable laps of incredible skill and drama.

After the disappointment of seeing 13-times TT winner Dave Molyneux retire after just a few yards in the opening Sure Mobile Sidecar TT, fans were treated to the long-awaited contest between Moly and fellow Manxman Nick Crowe in race two.

It was edge-of-the-seat stuff, as the breathtaking footage captured on this review shows, with Molyneux and Crowe trading places and even swapping paint as they battled.

The 2008 TT closed with another history-making event – the introduction of a brand new circuit. The 4.25-mile Billown course, famous for the Southern 100 races, was selected to host the re-introduction of the Lightweight and Ultra-Lightweight TT races, sponsored by the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company.

The 125cc and 250cc contests attracted strong fields, and saw Manxman Chris Palmer and veteran campaigner Ian Lougher add to their tallies of TT wins.

This incredible two-disc review features stunning action footage from every single race, with the best camera angles, informed commentary and revealing interviews ensuring you don’t miss anything.

The review is also loaded with bonus features, including three-times World Sidecar Champion Tim Reeves explaining why he is making his TT debut, fellow TT newcomer Jamie Robinson taking his road bike test, breathtaking footage of the Blades aerobatic display team in action, with Robinson, Dan Stewart and TT winner Richard ‘Milky’ Quayle as passengers, and a visit to the launch of the Getty Images TT exhibition in London, with contributions from legendary motorsport commentator Murray Walker and John McGuinness.

Plus, there’s complete on-board laps with Guy Martin, including commentary in his own inimitable style, and sidecar stars Nick Crowe and Mark Cox, and a look at the star-studded Ducati Parade Lap, with the likes of Carl Fogarty and Michael Rutter celebrating the 50th anniversary of Ducati’s TT debut.

As if that wasn’t enough, there are rider profiles, highlights of Mad Sunday, cunning stunts from the Purple Helmets and more.

This is the ultimate record of the ultimate event.
