German engineering specialists SW-Motech have launched a complete alloy luggage system that combines European manufacturing integrity and styling with their acclaimed Quick Lock EVO side carrier system, at a surprisingly affordable price for the quality.

TraX alloy cases are manufactured from 1.5mm AlMg3 grade alloy sheet, which is highly corrosion-resistant, with waterproof seams. In addition to this resilient material, fibre-reinforced hinges and corners and generous use of pierce-rivets ensure durability in the toughest conditions. The lids have a waterproof sealing profile and are fitted with tie-down points for extra carrying capacity.

Two sizes of side case are produced – the 37L model measures 49 cm x 23 cm x 37 cm and weighs 3.9 kg. Prices start at £175.00 for the alloy/black finish (£194.00 in all-black).  The larger 45L version is 2” wider at 49 cm x 28 cm x 37 cm and weighs marginally more at 4.5 kg, priced at £182.50 (£199.90 in black).

The cases can be attached to the bike with SW-Motech’s new EVO carriers, which offer a lighter, narrower alternative to traditional hard luggage racks and have a strong stable construction with welded profile tubing.  Prices start at £169.00 per pair, plus £28.99 for an adaptor kit designed specifically for the TraX cases. The patented Quick-Lock system means that not only the cases but also the carriers may be removed in seconds, restoring the bike to its naked glory.

A complete pannier and rack set with 37L cases in alloy/black would cost £547.99 in sliver/black (£585.99 in all-black).

SW-Motech also offer a 38L Top Case in the Trax range, which sells for £182.50 (£199.90 in black).

It can be fitted to the matching ALU-RACK top rack, which is made of lightweight, high strength aluminium and is individually designed to perfectly fit the lines of each motorcycle model while offering maximum strength, ease of use, and fast installation. Like the Evo carriers the adapter plates can be removed from the ALU-RACK in just a few seconds by turning three quarter-turn QUICK-LOCK fasteners.

Prices for the Alu-Rack top rack start at £69.25 (depending on make & model) plus the adaptor at £27.18.  A complete kit with rack to fit the Triumph Tiger 1050 in alloy/black sells for £331.47 (348.87 in all-black).

SW-Motech produce a wide range of accessories for the Trax cases, including inner bags to suit the panniers and Top Case, (£23.50 for 37 L and £26.33 for the 45 L pannier and £27.38 for the Top Case).

Most popular models of adventure sport bike are covered, including the BMW R 1150 & 1200 GS, Honda Transalp 650, KTM Adventure 950/990, Suzuki V-Strom, Triumph Tiger 1050 and Yamaha XT 660.  Full listings are available on the Motohaus website.

With such competitive prices TraX is set to establish itself as a popular brand with the booming numbers of Adventure Sport motorcyclists.
