In wet weather circumstances DeGraaf Grand Prix Team rode a good session in the free practice on Friday morning. The second qualification session it didn’t rain and took place on a dry track. The wind was very strong in this session and only 8 out of 38 riders managed to improve their lap times. Hugo van den Berg and Jerry van de Bunt couldn’t improve their laptimes and stucked on the 25th and 38th position. Stevie Bonsey was one of the 8 riders which was able to improve his laptime. Bonsey climbed up from the 21st position to a 16th position and will start tomorrow from the fourth row.

The wet session this morning will be maybe a good practice for tomorrow’s race. The DeGraaf Grand Prix Team riders were riding a good session with Hugo van den Berg on a 13th spot and Stevie Bonsey on a 14th spot. Jerry van de Bunt had a small crash in the middle of the session but didn’t hurt himself and ended up on a 33rd position.

Because of the strong wind during the second qualification it was very hard for the complete 125GP field to improve their lap times. Only eight riders managed to improve their lap times and Stevie Bonsey was one of them. Bonsey only improved by 0, 3 seconds but it brought him five positions and two starting rows. Instead of the sixth row Bonsey will start tomorrow from the fourth row.

Hugo van den Berg and Jerry van de Bunt had a lot of troubles with the strong wind. Both riders didn’t manage to improve their lap times but kept their positions on the grid. Hugo van den Berg will start on the 25th position and Jerry van de Bunt on the 38th position.

Hugo van den Berg (25th, 1:47,458):

“In the wet morning session it went well. In the afternoon there was a strong wind and I couldn’t improve my lap time. I’m still on the 25th spot and I’m happy that I didn’t drop back. I hope it will rain tomorrow during the race because I had a good session in the rain with a 13th position. We will see what kind of weather it will be.”

Jerry van de Bunt (38th, 1:51,560):

“In the morning it went pretty ok. I wasn’t last on the timesheets and it was the first time that I had a good feeling in the rain on an Aprilia. The qualification was not so good. There was a strong wind and it was difficult to improve your lap time. Tomorrow it will be my first TT and I’m really happy to race it. I’m focusing to finish the race and have fun.”

Stevie Bonsey (16th, 1:46,714):

“Today was an improvement from yesterday. We had some gearbox issues but today we sorted them out and got back on pace. I feel strong for the race. Just need a good start and everyone to open the door for me so I can charge to the front.”
